Great tutorial! Has anyone gone in the other direction? I don't care for the larger screen but it was the only way to get other features like the awesome multi-contour seats and other goodies. Installing the smaller screen is easy but would I need to change the firmware as well?

While I agree this is not as nice as the 12" the F-150's got, it is still quite a bit nicer then the 8" Sync 3 radio. It is something that can act as a hold over until the Sync 4 retrofits become available to the Explorer.

@@Infotainment_nav It is absolutely worse than the 8" in every way EXCEPT for built in Nav. Carplay and backup cameras were LARGER on the 8".
