the awkwardness. avoiding eye contact as much as possible. the stuttering. the way our voice kinda softens and cracks when we talk to other people. starting a phrase and not knowing how to finish it. changing topics and losing focus mid-sentence. sweaty palms. the shortness of breath. being an infp is quite interesting but genuinely torturous for most of us lmao.

This might be a human thing but does anyone ever catch themselves in the middle of a conversation and all of a sudden your train of thought separates and all of a sudden your now hyper focused on the person staring at you? Then you you try to tune back into whatever you were talking about but sometimes it gets alittle rocky trying to pretend like you know what your talking about and the person your talking to realizes your steering off course. Hence the awkward moment.

Its so strange how you are all saying that we stutter and that we're awkward. All I see are passionate, articulate people. We want to use the right words and so we like to pause in between phrases to find the rawest way to convey our message. We are always trying to find new ways to express ourselves. I see people who have a soft spoken manner, but are solid in their values and in their opinions. We are deeply introspective and so when we talk we seem to be in another realm, translating what is going on in our brain to the outside world. These people are all emotionally intelligent as fuck and I am so happy to be an INFP.

So true! I, for one, am a story-teller, and when I am telling a particularly good story that I haven't told before, I want to make it the best it can be. Unfortunately, my words get jumbled because I want to use the right one, and I'm trying to think about the next bit, but then one thought leads to a other, and my mouth can't keep up. Obviously the types don’t embody our entire personalities. The way we interact with the world perhaps, more so than our levels of confidence etc. Well, to be honest with you, I find MBTI enjoyable but the idea that your behaviour completely changes because you have slight preferences in certain things is silly to me. In a very basic way it works, but I don’t believe we can analyse our inner workings in-depth with it. As an INFP I’m not particularly confident, I don’t think I’m arrogant but I do fear it. It’s a trait I dislike - not confidence, mind, but arrogance and narcissism - and it’s one I am scared to find in myself. When I catch myself not listening to someone, or dominating a conversation, I feel selfish and it feels wrong. Perhaps this is part of my “INFPness”, but I think it’s more likely to be a part of my own, individual insecurities, which I possibly share with other INFPs. Does that make sense? Ah well, I’m rambling anyway. Never mind..
@DenisaAlize5 жыл бұрын
I know, But It’s funny how a lot of us are mistaken as “arrogant” for not integrating into a world that everyone else misunderstands us in and mistakes us in the very first place. Then when we don’t integrate we are ultra arrogancio! We are self absorbed because our souls and we don’t want to find ourselves through other people? It’s a bit of a paradox to me. What a lose lose situation. I’m not listening to millions of people who would tell me who I should be all the while contradicting one another, it’s laughable. Not the life I want to live and I have self respect.People are dumbing down possible reasonings and throwing labels and we don’t change for anyone not even for ourselves. Stubborn? hell yes.

@GNo033 жыл бұрын
this is true, sometimes I take a look at myself and realize I’m being kind of narcissistic and an asshole
@evedotcom3 жыл бұрын
Same! I was so ashamed for a while looking back at my strong victim mentality, being pretty self absorbed but thinking I was super empathetic and wouldn’t hurt a fly. Kinda seemed like covert narcissism at times. I was all over the place. But I feel I’ve outgrown it a lot. Definitely something to be mindful of as an INFP.

INFP here, yearning for a vocation as a healer after losing faith in my artistic abilities. This list is interesting and I can relate to some, if not most, but the only real "healer"I see here is Regina Spektor which just by looking at her eyes, I feel better about myself and the world... guess what I'm fumbling for is to ask why is my type considered a healer while our Fe is weak, our Si often puts us in a rut and our imagination and introversion drives us towards being reclusive misfits unless we are, as in the rare cases we see here, blessed with some extraordinary talents or genius.
@SaraMBTI6 жыл бұрын
Hunky Dory As an Enfj, I consider your type as healers. Most Infps I know are ,,therapeutic'' for me (just the way they are). If they can create art- that's even better! :)
@ravanna97125 жыл бұрын
Hey I'm infp too and was wondering about the same thing :) Hmm I think it's probably because we find ways (Ne) to heal ourselves (Fi) and then or on the way we eventually inspire others to do the same. And personally I always wanted and still kinda want to heal the world like most infps do :D But maybe infjs should be the real healers with their Fe? The only thing I know is that I'm still struggling and don't really know what to do though :/ Wish you all the strength and luck in your life!
@zain40195 жыл бұрын
Rava nna ENFJs lead with Fe, so I think they’re some of the best healers:) Of course, we heal others in our own ways.
@camrynclass28363 жыл бұрын
@@ravanna9712 your theory is actually right on the nose. because infps are generally so self aware and tend to search for answers on everything they are known to become rather wise and able to understand emotions well and that’s highly therapeutic for other people we just need to learn to do the same for ourselves
@ravanna97123 жыл бұрын
@@camrynclass2836 oh wow thanks for your comment. Yes some time has passed since I wrote this... It happened that I found out that I have some healing attributes in me :) I'm actually pretty empathic and good in comforting people letting them be themselves, accepting all their sides and comforting them when they are hurting. I'm even able to inspire them doing something so that they feel better...but all these things are often buried under a lot shyness and pain.. Us being in our comfort zone as a loner and we need to actually go under folks and have the self esteem to try helping people what I often lack also being often tired/isolated and not very practical just good for deep talking, having fun/chill and some advice yep lots of flaws that maybe cause that low confidence in being useful for people 😅. But yes I think it's true I guess infps can be very spiritual, empathetic, kind, calming and wise what makes up lovely healers. Who says healers have to be perfect godlike people pleasers? 😅 Aand we are actually very good in noticing and understanding other people's emotions and pain + good listeners ❤️ have a beautiful journey my friend 🤗

As an ENFJ, even before knowing my type, I used to find INFPs so interesting and even sexy when it comes to the way they express themselves, their nostalgic eyes, stuttering, and social awkwardness. Very recently finding out Enfjs and Infps are a good match :) INFPs are so unique ♡

Andrew Garfield is when i'm sober and under pressure to answer a question which i do want to but i don't know where to start bc i don't want to drag it too long and end up saying the same thing a few times bc my mind went blank.. Andy Warhol is when i'm moody and don't feel like socialising.. Bjork is when i'm comfortable and excited and in really good spirits.. Marlon Brando is when i delve deep into history and realise everything we as a human race have been told is a lie and why and how we bought into these lies.. (sadly not many ppl i've come across are interested enough to hear my discoveries and perspectives on them)(& why was the audio for the part where he was gonna explain what he read about the Indians blocked out i was rly interested to know) Heath Ledger is when I'm speaking about 'regrets' bc that's exactly what i tell people about 'regrets'- a waste of time. Johnny Depp is when give people advice on life.. John Lennon is when i talk about the world, the govt and politics (funny how what he said is still largely relevant today)..&the more i know about stuff the less i hate too, except for the pure evils of the world.. David Lynch is when i have an epiphany on life and try to explain it with metaphors and analogies.. Mia is when i'm talking about my favorite character from a book or show and how that character and story relates to real ife.. Morrisey is when i take pride in my art and what i do and reflect upon it and how it'll take me into the future.. Regina Spektor is when i'm a little shy but very very high and happpy.. Tim Burton is when i'm dissapointed and confused when i realise people don't see things the way i see them.. Tori Amos is when i was 12 too and had a crush and wanted badly to prove my talents and worth but i was too nervous and shy but was determined to do so anyways and i did but also never saw or heard from him again and i still get nervous and shy when i need to present my talents to an audience.. Nice to know people i can relate to and think and behave like me can become successful. (♥ω♥*) Now to make that happen for myself. (▰︶︹︺▰)

i saw your comment and i immediately came to support and i love that fellow infps beat me to it 👏👏💕 ive learned in my life people dont really care that much about how you say something, as long as it holds true value. once you build your inner confidence and build your passion, it will be so deep that it will emulate to others and most importantly steadily guide you to your ‘dream’ life. ive struggled with speech for so long but as you get a clear train of thought with less internal friction you’ll find that you actually can speak quite well, after all communication is a skill that can be learned. Good luck i hope your doing well!! 🥳🌈💕

Omg, this is so funny because whenever I am on camera I look SO shy and appear so soft-spoken 😂 in my head I think I'm speaking so confidently, and I AM! I just sound so soft. But on the inside, I have so much life and compassion and excitement. I think our heads have the ultimate protective layer around them, so when we're communicating, especially to a large or nameless crowd, we appear very shy or in retreat mode. We have a hard time inserting ourselves into reality. We are courageous by simply being present and vulnerable with the world. We feel vulnerable OFTEN, if not always. This video made me proud to be an INFP!

my mind thinks too quickly and people constantly tell me to slow down... among the non-sense i speak for them, the amount of word per minute i say is another reason for them to feel lost and me to feel misunderstood. and when i see in their eyes that they don't follow me anymore i just go even quicker to end it the sooner i can without just interrupting myself blaming them to not follow cause it would feel rude from both parts. oops.

When I always watch videos with INFP it's like I was looking signs that they're handicapped or weird because that's the way our personalities are described and often seen. Weirdos, awkward, kinda autistic. It's very hurtful and since I know what people think about us, I feel like I was handicapped 😐 f.. all people who think low about us.

I'm technically INTP but going too hard into this type almost killed me, and I've since learned how important emotions are as a guide. I test at 48%F/52%T. I've built a lot of logical structures in my head as a guide to understanding life, and now trusting my feelings and letting go of logic to intuit my path along these structures is liberating and empowering.
