INFP from 1982 still alive - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHispJlngNOhaq8

I feel like INFPs have a very childlike quality to them that never gives up yet gets severely disappointed by real life when they become an adult. We are such idealistic individuals that if we did not constantly nurture by our inner child, our empathy for the world would ultimately crush us. We are particularly more sensitive to the world. Yet we create so much joy in others through that same childlike idealistic persona.
@INFPHD
@INFPHD 4 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with ya Millie! Yeah adult life is just heavy set on structure and responsibilities that we “must” conform to. However, us INFPs just want to taste so many aspects of what all life has to offer that it can feel very restrictive doing the structured “adulting”. As children we were just constantly trying to learn new things that we have not experienced yet due to our young age. BUT just because we are an adult, doesn’t mean that we have seen and experienced “everything”. I have a constant crave to let my inner child’s imagination and explorative nature continue to be a front runner with “adulting” as a sidekick. Hard to balance especially when you want complete freedom lol.. Sean

Music is one of the biggest parts of my life. Without music I couldn't be inspired. I'm also really picky with music, so when I find something I like, I dive in the deep end. The Beatles for instance have some pretty deep music, and one song from them I can really relate to called "Fixing A Hole". It talks about "people wondering why they can't get in my door" which means people who aren't necessarily close to you are wondering why they can't get to know you faster. That's what I got from it. Yall should listen to it. "Fixing A Hole" by The Beatles.

Kurt appears to be misunderstood in exactly the way an INFP is so typically misunderstood in that the rich internal emotional experiences, be they positive or negative, are largely hidden from the world, and all but a few close friends. James Taylor describes the 'blessing and a curse' that INFPs have been known to say in describing their rich internal life, myself included.

Hey Robert! Yeah digging through all of his clips to eventually find that one I found myself really resonating with a TON of how he looked at things. That particular one was really close to me (well all the choice clips were) because I get that ALL the time! “You ok?”, “is something wrong?”, “you should smile more”, “why do you always look down?”. NO PEOPLE - it’s for one - my natural resting bitch face and two - I’m mostly just thinking myself away from people who I don’t care to open myself up to. But yeah when I do open up the extra happiness can be more openly seen but yeah like you said - only a small few get to see it (well of course before somehow managing to get myself on KZbin 😂) Sean

Always felt like I had a special connection to most of these artists, seems bittersweet to know they probably have similar perspectives and personalities to my own. I know objectively I'm not alone in my views, but I tend to feel alone with them, until I come across someone who out of the blue reflects myself in their words, their eyes, and their actions. They're very brave to be so honestly themselves to the world, it's inspiring :)

I've always been an admirer of Van Gogh, I always get emotional every time I read his story where he was never appreciated by most of the people around him especially his art because I've also experienced the feeling of being isolated, misunderstood and unappreciated. His masterpieces became my kind of aesthetic and every stuffs that I make had a little Van Gogh touch in it. He's really close to my heart because we have lots in common- we have the same birthday which is the 30th of March, an Aries. I also love fulfilling my creative pursuits though sometimes I get tired and eventually stopping for a week or even month, then get back to it again if I just feel like I need to. And now knowing that we're both INFPs, I feel like I'm the happiest person in the world. He became my role model and just like him I want to make a great contribution into the humanity maybe not in Art but in a world of Psychology because that's what I'm pursuing as a career. And to all INFPs like me out there, let's make this world a better place to live in and always keep in our mind that love is the most precious gift we can offer to one another. Keep goghing!💙
@INFPHD
@INFPHD 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Kai! Yeah those misunderstood stories will get me every time as well as an underdog story which is essentially his case (and ours). Stories like his just really inspire me because for what we are creatively capable of, if we just power through "the noise" then great things are possible. It's hard though to press through which then I'm even MORE inspired to think of that mental overcoming the artist (or whoever) had to endure. Cool to know you guys have the same b-day (I'm Pisces so right before you). Psychology is really something I wish I found in my younger years as that's something I'm really passionate about exploring as well! Thanks for taking the time to comment and also leaving the boost of INFP encouragement there at the end!! Sean

So yeah, if you get some time check out the video and you will see that you and I are very similar. Hi Sean thanks for the video. I realized I have a huge fear of rejection and need for acceptance. I fear others won’t accept me for me because my values are so different from the majority of people I know. My life goal is to learn to seek acceptance only from myself. It shouldn’t be hard, since I think I have great morals and values. But I can get stuck in comparing myself to others. And what society seems to values. -Miira
@INFPHD
@INFPHD 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah Miira that is for sure what we can deeply struggle with going through life. Not sure of your age obviously, but yeah for me it took till around 30 when I really started branching off more and more with just accepting who I am and that I don’t do / like what the “majority” of society does. It’s again, difficult to traverse a more off the beaten path type road because of the critics seemingly at every turn (including family / friends), but for us it’s really just important to embrace who we are and that we have things inside of us that if harnessed outside of our heads can shed much light on this world. Problem is that we get so caught up on the things we are thinking of being rejected so we don’t do them. However, when you start getting to that point of letting go it can obviously have its continuing bumps but it’s when we really feel alive honestly. Just have to keep fighting that internal Miira not letting her get the best of you (which I know from experience is easier said than done...). Nice to meet you! Sean

I think I am the only INFP who doesn't relate to people's love towards music. I love reading, writing but am nowhere close to how much my friends love music. I just feel disconnected most of the time and only listen to music where I can feel how the singer was feeling at that point. It just me in my entire social circle who is like that. I have spent around 3 years once and was listening to no music whatsoever and did not even felt the need to or was not even missing. But writing is a art I can never miss out on. I am an INFP so I thought it would be interesting to share another side of this personality in the population.

I related to, and also obviously like them. I've seen Jude on many places pegged for INFP but yeah also ENFP (as well as others). I do not personally know these people and I'm just going off the tornado of information out there that can be confusing. My purpose for these style videos was more of me communicating through their clips and I may be VERY wrong on the INFP people selections, but was essentially just having fun with the clips. Some of them were also recommendations from other INFPs to put in there - Jude just came off of Google and personality sites. Thank you so much for showing your love - means a lot!! Sean

What up Katy!? Yeah who really knows for sure about all these characters. From Googling him he comes up “heavy” said to be an INFP throughout the popular sites. Seen a few say ISFP and ENFP but yeah it’s all how you choose to see it as well. Most see me at work and on video (not the full picture of me) as to be an extrovert which in fact I’m thoroughly aware I’m not...but I can do it. INFPs are actually said to be one of the most extroverted of the introvert types. The most important part of these style videos was the selected clips I personally found and resonated with to create a message through that. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Sean

I'm INFP, but I would't say I'm a womanizer persa. But I love woman and will flirt with them in my own way. I don't mind socializing. Hard not to when I'm playing in a band. I prefer my own company a lot of the time. But I will engage with certain people till the sun comes up if they are willing to go deep with me. The words that came out of Marley's mouth here are very true to me, and how I see how it shows the INFP's dislike of materialism.

Yep Christine that is exactly how I felt when I discovered MBTI in my late 20’s (now 43). Just always feeling like people didn’t get me or that I was always doing things wrong compared to the majority of people in this world. So yeah MBTI gave me a sense of validation in that I wasn’t actually wrong just came from things in a different perspective which is “OK”. It really helped change my trajectory towards a more self authentic open person and less hiding my little odd gifts from the world as that’s kinda our main goal in like we are fighting for is being true to ourselves. However, MBTI is just a light tool to be used to better understand ourselves as well as others and you shouldn’t tightly define yourself in the INFP box. It lays out our preferences for how we like to navigate this world but “nothing grows in your comfort zone”. Nice to meet you 🤙 Sean

The more places that have these people typed as INFP with popular opinion, the less I have to defend / explain my choice in the comments section years after I post (because they will Google them too). But going on “famous / celebrity INFP” type sites you will see what I’m talking about... To me it’s unfortunate because OBVIOUSLY minorities have plenty of famous INFP representation. I don't think Edgar Allen Poe is an INFP. His fiction is not that much about emotions as it is about constructing a good story, he's very formalist, morals have little to do with his works. His stories are meant to be well constructed, he uses literary techniques to keep the reader hooked rather than as expressions of his inner being.

What up Mormegil! Yeah that's the thing with the famous stuff online as all the sites have an opinion about what type they all are. The thing about famous people is just like me (not that I'm famous) on camera, and that we see small doses of them etc. Plus they are typically putting on "a show" in order to entertain others which regardless of what type they are I can appreciate their efforts. I did not know these people personally so yeah I can not confirm INFP is their type. I just Googled the typical websites and grabbed people who I liked that were on the "majority" of them saying they were INFP's. I think John Lennon is pegged to be like ALL the types (lol) if you really dig... I personally believe that INFP's can do and be WHATEVER they want especially when it's something they are into! The grace, style, and sensuality all can come out when the passion is present which we all have different things we find that we like. I never thought I would be into making videos (or being on them for that matter LMAO), but it is something that I found I enjoy and will relentlessly put in the effort to learn and craft it more and more. Plenty of INFP's would never think to do the videography stuff because it's just not what they are into. I know that we have some great representation in the musician world (case in point with your examples there) but yeah I can't sing, play music, or write a song to save my life. Doesn't mean they are more INFP than me, I just am not passionate about that stuff. I know when I tell colleagues at work that I'm actually heavily introverted they NEVER believe me (usually adding curse words to further make their opinion more clear on the matter). My job requires a TON of social interaction to be successful at it. When I put on the work boots for the week I buckle down and extrovert way more than I'm comfortable with, but I do it. I can flow amongst the rest of them and even though I don't naturally have their preferences you wouldn't know any different and honestly I do things a lot better than they do quite commonly when it comes to communication etc. I see it all the same as being that Musician, or Actor. If you want to be successful at something then you will grab those weaknesses (ex. grace, style, and sensuality) and work on them. I just believe that if we find that passion (whatever it is) that nothing can stand in our way.... I'm just trying to un-swirl and make sense of ALL the information out in the world at our fingertips like everyone else. Eating eggs for breakfast is the best way to start your day. Website below it - Eating eggs for breakfast will cause cancer. Obviously I thought of when making this video (just to add more variety) that my people choices had a high probability to be criticized, but on the flip side was to just not make it. I'm tired of going through life not making stuff that's in my head to avoid criticism because really no matter what you do - someone is going to pick something out of it. So yeah man no worries here at all and completely appreciate the time you spent to watch as well as comment your opinions (as we all have them). Later Sean

Marlon Brando is most definitely INFP in my humble opinion. Brando and Depp, peas in a pod. Watch 10 seconds of any interview and it's very apparent. As for Lennon, definite NF. With a lot of abandonment issues, possibly on the B.P.D. spectrum, and anger issues from that. Similar in ways, like Brando's anger from his youth. Been a fan of Lennon for over 43 years. Watched many an interview, and heard people close to him speak of his, shyness, charm, insecurities. I can't speak of the others as I know them not enough.

@@Burtifly Mental health issues certainly complicate the question of assigning a type and there's no doubt that John had some serious ones. I certainly don't have as much knowledge as you about John and his life and music but I never felt a NF vibe from him (I'm a INFP). The way I approach the unreliable science of trying to guess a famous persons Type is to consider extroverted functions only. INFP and INTPs both have extroverted intuition so are likely to have an aura of strangeness and mystery (weirdness). ISFPs have extroverted sensing so are likely to have an aura of sensuality and grace. I go back and forth with Depp, sometimes he seems like an INFP to me and other times ISFP. Brando to me radiated amazing sensuality as an actor so I tend to think of him as ISFP.

So again, not sure of your age but at the same time we also all go through different phases at different times in our lives... Awesome yeah no problem Jessica! I know prior to making content I commonly found myself researching INFP famous people to have the same affect. I feel it’s just a big part to combat the whole area of society typically dismissing us as quiet slackers who have weird views / interests so we can’t ever really “be something”. It’s good to just get that comfort feeling of we aren’t just some lazy screwups that can’t produce cool things if we actually buckle down and get those creative / abstract original thoughts out into the real world and those people provide inspiration to do so. I just like relating to likeminded people and to go dig around for clips these videos are very fun (a lot of work) to make. Glad you enjoy and thanks for braving the comments section and letting me know you’re out there...👍🏻 Sean

For me it is a pleasure to have the same type of personality as all of these beautiful people. To know they much likely saw the world the same way I do makes me feel less alone. It may not be easy being an INFP, but after all I consider it rewarding, like a hidden obscure treasure. Where others see ordinary things, sometimes even garbage, we see beauty and inspiration, and that's why there are so many of us who become artists, whether that is in music, writing, painting, etc.

Yeah totally Ricardo that’s the same way I look at it all. I feel that many just sulk in the difficulties we face with everyday life and not fitting in the best, but there is always another positive side of the coin to also look at. The more common types do seem to have things a bit easier when it comes to being accepted now society but they too have their own share of issues that perhaps we don’t. I enjoy that I know my inner self so well from all of the processing I’ve done over my lifetime. That internal knowledge helps to see things in a clearer light overtime which is the best path towards personal happiness. Seeing through all the fog of society is my favorite super power. Sean

This was so beautiful, Sean! Thank you for sharing this. It was created in such an artistic way, just really beautiful. It’s obvious this took a lot of effort, careful thought, and research to make. Please dismiss those who choose to ignore all this effort and the true heart of this video but instead choose to seize the opportunity to criticize who is or isn’t truly an Infp in the video. Honestly, who really knows what type they are. Heck, sometimes I question what type I am in any given moment. The point is, you captured Infp moments that any Infp could relate to. That’s what I loved about it. Keep being creative! Just remember that putting out any kind of art is an act of vulnerability. It takes bravery and courage. I love Brené Brown’s Ted talk about the subject of vulnerability, it was very enlightening to me. It’s on Netflix too, that one’s even better. You should watch it if you haven’t already done so. Have a great day!

Heeeeeeeey girl! It did actually take a bunch of time to make this one so the fact that you could see that part (most don't) means a lot! It was actually very fun to make and dig through all that content finding clips that I related to (and then assuming you guys would as well). Yeah being in the typology niche is a very opinionated area as it's all subjective and not typically scientific. People can get extremely riled up (same as those that are deep into politics etc) and actually get angry if a type thing is not in line with what they believe. I'm not one of the ones who takes all this stuff as the Holy Grail because if you did then you would place yourself into an "INFP box" and not doing things that we are "supposed" to not do. And like you said - who really knows what type they are - I sure don't as I didn't personally sit down with any of them for a cup of tea or something. I do feel confident that my preferences and home base is that of an INFP, but I FREQUENTLY live outside of those preferences! Work is the majority of my life and there I will commonly grab the other 4 opposite preference letters and use them in order to achieve certain tasks. Doesn't mean I'm some other type, it just means I'm developing myself through courage etc with the knowing it will make me a more rounded individual. After exercising out of your comfort zone type things you gain a much stronger confidence within yourself that in my opinion makes life a bit easier to navigate because you are used to more things and how to deal with them. Yeah I just saw the comment in here that you may have triggered from and I did leave my opinion there. It's all good and like I said - the typology stuff can get intense sometimes, but it's just if you want to use it all as the Holy Grail or more just a simple foundational tool to help guide you. I prefer to leave the Grail over in the "Bible niche" myself... Sean

Yeah Brene (I don't know how you make that e dash thing lol) is awesome! I have her Daring Greatly book on my little stand in the background of my videos. I don't actually think I've seen this video so I just watched it. I so am at the point in my life where this applies and what I honestly believe in towards ones happiness. The years of just not "letting loose" is so damaging I feel and the sooner you can embrace this topic the better your life actually starts to become even though the vulnerability trade off to "do it" scares you to not. I enjoyed the 9-10:05 min mark and again, fully planning to stay on that bus! Thanks Cheri!

INFP HD lol, I just typed in “Brené” and it automatically did it, even with quotes! I just love her message so much. I’m at a point where I’m trying a lot of new things, like guitar, singing, and getting back into painting and it’s scary to put yourself out there! There’s always that little voice in there saying, “what if you suck?” “What if you fail?” Right now I’m just ignoring the voices and trusting the process and the future miles I plan on putting into each endeavor.

Well apparently my fancy editing computer is BROKEN! Best Buy is gonna hear about this one - it does sooo much yet doesn't have the capability to know how to spell Brene (see DID IT AGAIN!!) lol. Yeah that's awesome you are taking on new things! I don't have the musical singing thing in me, but it always intrigues me how all that is put down together to make a song. I played clarinet in the 5th grade but all I remember how to play was the Top Gun anthem (and no I still don't have / play it with some kilt on or something....)! I will say that "little voice" SUCKS! However, he has had his time with the majority of my life and it honestly does hold you back from the better things in life! Plus you can't potentially help anyone else because you are holding all that stuff inside only to be seen by you and your voice frenemy! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

INFP here mistyped as INTJ (I have TJ fix). Polymath. Im a licensed civil engineer, musician, athlete, writer, chess player, speed cuber. Aspiring Psychologist. INFPs are not bound to a singular industry or endeavor because of the Ne function which gives 'us' a hunger to search for new ideas, perspectives, 'information'. This Fi-Ne combination is prone to not completing a long-term project but if your tertiary and inferior functions will be developed in the way that it should be, you can maximize your life. :)

Awesome nice to meet you sir! Yeah you sound very driven / understand how to harness our crazy function stack. I completely agree that we can do absolutely anything anyone else can do (and a lot of times “better” even when it’s not a strength of ours), and see so many times people being held down in the world of “I can’t do that because I’m an INFP”. Bottom line is for “any type” if they work on their weaknesses to better round out into a full package life just gets sooo much better than if you stay away from all those scary unknowns. The sensitive feeling / value nature of us is something to really work hard to thicken the skin amongst society because that can stall us out greatly from always protecting our inner world. Ne is hands down my favorite function (..confident I have ADHD) and I’m just always super excited to go discover new things. It does get tiresome with getting bored of things quickly, not finishing things or really mastering stuff a lot of times. I have moments where I wish I had a more “just being content” bone in my body because it looks easier, BUT then I’m like “naaaaa” 🤪. So yeah, it’s very important for us to wrap our heads around the ways we can make our stack of preferences work - which it’s completely possible to do so - just takes work... Sean
