While I've had the IRChrome filter for a number of years, I really never thought of building a custom profile for it. The only thing I'd really do differently than a normal shot is tweak the reds/oranges due to the Sony. The custom profiles really seem to help.

Thanks Rob! I would be interested in how you edit IR Chrome in darktable as well. There isn't much to it (no color swap), but I still feel like my colors are too orange and not red enough. Thanks for the consideration, and thanks for all you do! Your videos got me started a couple months ago 👍

There are a few modules in darktable that you could use to tweak specific hues. The "color zones" module a fancy HSL tool that can tweak specific colors. I would also recommend experimenting with "color calibration".

Use the custom white balance feature in the camera. Be sure to point at a neutral subject, such as clouds or pavement (not foliage).

If you are using a 590 nm filter or any other numbered high-pass infrared filter, you can use the profiles in the Infrared Profile Pack to adjust color temperature. @@robertgrenader858 The same applies. Use a camera converted to 590 nm is essentially using a 590 nm filter directly over the sensor.
