In this video i will show you my favorite pot hanger system for your bushcraft camp. You just need two forked branches, a stable pole, and a Swiss Army Knife.

That's really fantastic, Felix! I never thought of doing something as simple as that. My 11 year old daughter Molly is very into bushcrafting and thinks the world of you. I trained her myself, using many of your vlogs as an example and she uses a small Swiss Army knife under my direction. We all agree your Chicken Rotisserie was an absolute blast! Hopefully next year we'll fly out to meet you. Stay safe buddy! ~Wendi

Felix Great tips as always I got 1 small tip for you: The top of any pole you are going to hammer works much better if you give the top a small chamfer The bottom is sharpened to a point to facilitate the driving in pole by concentrating the force of the blow into a much smaller area to open the way in the ground. Then the wedge part forces the ground open so the pole or stake can follow it Now the reason for the slight chamfer on the top is to concentrate the force into the centre of the pole or stake. It makes it easier to strike and it also helps prevent the pole or stake from splitting if t it has a cracked grain or near a knot that takes the force of the blow towards the outside surface. Just a slight chamfer. Maybe if your pole or stake is 50mm dia you make a 5mm chamfer all around so that the core is 40mm Works well. It will also work on your smaller wooden nails Try it Thanks again for all your good content Keep on keeping on Heads up Eyes open No fear

Brilliant! Much easier to make it from wood, than to forge from iron. In addition, you can make it at your campsite and do not have to carry heavy metal hangers with you. 😁

Felix didn’t you say your supposed to have your knife half way closed to baton a branch in half or risk damaging springs on your sak ? 🦊🐾🇮🇹
@FelixImmler

Yes, that's true. it depends on the diameter and the type of wood. You musst judge for yourself. whether the knife takes a damage or not.

Sehr schön, allerdings könnte man das noch verbessern indem man den Topfhalter-Stock auf Zug und die Stütze auf Druck belasten würde. Dadurch würde man sich den Holznagel sparen, da die Verbindung unter Belastung immer fester wird.

Impressive! Just so you know I was in the US Air Force for 22 years and 3 months. When I went through survival training, which was part of earning my wings, I purchased a Swiss Army knife, the Huntsman, as my go to tool. That was in 1991-- 33 years later I still use that knife today almost on a daily basis. I never met a knife I didn't like, but the Huntsman fulfilled every requirement, every need and met every challenge. A knife is a "no-go" item that you must have anytime you fly. The Huntsman never failed me. It still looks as new as the day I purchased it. That my friend is Swiss engineering. Something I hope your country is proud of.

I'm still going to the woods in my 50s and I'm still usually going solo (husband's not a fan of the woods, unfortunately). My SAK goes everywhere with me, even my office job.

Beautiful idea and build. Great job! Tip: If you chamfer the top of the pole that you are hammering, it will not mushroom or splinter. Until next time. Please be careful Felix, it is getting bad over there. 🙏 Schöne Idee und Aufbau. Gut gemacht! Tipp: Wenn Sie die Spitze der Stange, auf die Sie hämmern, anfasen, pilzt oder splittert sie nicht. Bis zum nächsten Mal. Bitte sei vorsichtig Felix, es wird schlimm da drüben. 🙏
