National Anthem of Greece [Version 2] - "Ύμνος εις την Ελευθερίαν" (FULL VERSION)

This is the national anthem of Greece. Although only the first two stanzas are "official", this is the entire anthem in all its glory! This Version is quite long, and dare I say, too long. So if you want to listen to a shortened version of the full anthem, go to Version 1. Also, the translation is poetic, and is not a direct translation of the greek text.
Happy independence day, Greece!

Dear friend. This is an epic poem narrating all aspects of the struggle of Greek Revolution for Independence, writing by poem composer Solomos. It was not written to be a national anthem. Later a music composer Mantzaros, wrote some basic melody to the poem. Both the poem and the melody soon became very popular amongst the Greeks, to the point that it was played during national festivities to raise the moral spirits. Gradually it was played during the raise of the Flag up until it became by tradition the status quo melody for flying the Flag. Only in 1960 a law passed by the Greek parliament, officialy mentioned that the first 2 verses of the poem (only) and the melody, will be officially recognised as the Greek National Anthem.

Problem is after Turkic ethnic cleansing, it would mean the deportation of millions of innocent Turks who simply moved there without taking part of the genocides. It would be like giving Germany back Königsberg/Kaliningrad, which has a very small minority of Germans compared to Russians, Belarusians etc

@@derserthefoxxo3873 Terrains where Königsberg was later build was conquered by Germans, same as Asia Minor was conquered by Turks. Additional difference is that Germans lost It rightfully. Btw Turks made ethnic cleaning in Cyprus too, Greeks were majority in most of Northern Cyprus. Do you think it should be left like that. Soon they will make some actiones in Kurdistan.

@@misiek_xp4886 Germany absolutely deserved to pay major war reperations, yes, but the deportation of civilians who faced fascist oppression from their government then had a devastating war on their doorstep wasn't right. I'm aware of the Northern Cyprus situation and it's just sad to see. The actions of the Ottomans and now Erdogan's Turkey are horrific, from the Greek and Armenian genocides to ethnic cleansing of Kurds, but the Turkish cypriots, to my knowledge at least, lived rather peacefully alongside the Greek cypriots until Turkey tried to re-conquer the entire island.

@@rayh6118 Israel is also an ethnically cleansed state which is rediculous as the Torah states the Jews would recieve the promised lands at the end of time iirc. Mix that with the fact that Israelis are not descendants of the ancient tribes that once lived there and it becomes even more rediculous that these lot of colonialists are committing genocide...
