Hi Paul, I love Inge Lise Hope, but, there are a few really great singers this year. If you haven't watched them, have a look at Trine Uthaug from last week Oscar Winning Tears & tonight she sang Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield, both fabulous. Also Lisbeth, great voice & beautiful personality & could win. However, there is a guy called Joachim Boberg who has an incredibly unique voice. Please check him out.

Power is impressive, but not a unique or interesting sound. You can't imagine her having a career in music, as she may not write her own stuff. The voice shouldn't just be about power singers, as they tend to belt out the same songs.

I agree that they need their own original songs to break out in the industry. However, this is a singing competition, right? So the most impressive singer leaves the mark. The singer that leaves the best impression and connects with the audience the most, wins. Whether it's through power singing or storytelling. They should have a songwriter competition, then things would be different and would set up the singer for a successful career. I remember seeing many idol winners disappear after winning, only a few made it.
