I had seen this eBay seller before, and took the plunge on an Ingersoll Christmas present from them based on this recommendation. So far so good. Huge saving on buying the same watch (a Hawley) from any seller in the UK (even with shipping and import fees), and arrived fast and beautifully packaged from the US vendor. Gains only about 4 seconds a day and ticking along nicely. Nice addition to a watch collection. I will probably get one or two more. Just bear in mind that these watches are big chunky boys!

Yeah, almost all of my Ingersolls are from that seller also. They’re here in Miami, but they apparently don’t have a store front… just internet sales.

This watch is suspiciously cheap for having such a complicated movement. How accurate is it at keeping time?
@ToddsWatchshop2 жыл бұрын
It's really quite good. Being that it's a mechanical movement, it certainly doesn't have the accuracy of a Quartz, and it's not COSC certified by any means. But it is no different than say your standard NH35A. One of the things I explain in the video is that in actuality, the only thing the movement shares between the two sides, are the base plates, and the winding mechanism. There are two separate mainsprings, two separate balances, and essentially two separate mechanisms. The one on the right (looking at the face) powers the time / three-hand complication, and the balance on the left powers the moon-phase and date wheel. The uniqueness of the movement is that by having alternating balance wheels, they should (in theory) be cancelling the negative torque effects of each other. That said, because the gears for both are independent of each other, I'm not sure it really does that. At best, it has a small effect, at worst, it does nothing. The nice thing though, is that the main springs are still the same size, so energy store is unaffected. Since both sides power different components, it maintains the same energy store as a simple 3-hand automatic.... which is greater than 40+ hours.

Sorry, forgot to mention... as far as the price goes, the MSRP is over $500, which is not unreasonable considering the quality of Ingersolls. And, I mean that sincerely. I have several Omegas, a Tag, and a Breitling SuperOcean 2, and the quality of the Ingersolls is right up there... fantastic value for the price. They ARE assembled in Hong Kong... and that's where the price savings comes in. But, I got this watch VERY cheap because I got it in grey market.

Expect ±40 seconds a day, it is very susceptible to shocks, if you're bouncing it around a lot it can lose or gain a few mins...

Would the gold plated come off? Would stay forever?
@ToddsWatchshop Жыл бұрын
If you wore this watch every day, it would eventually start to get dinged and scratched. It’s an automatic, so you’d have less wear simply because you wouldn’t be winding it yourself. I think it’s pretty good quality, and you can expect it will stay on indefinitely, except for damage/scratches.

Please help, Im going to ny in june and i wanna buy a ingersoll

Hi Ravel, I can’t really say. It’s a UK watch brand primarily at this point, and your best bet is via eBay or Amazon. Have you looked for locations that offer Ingrrsolls?
