That's called a Touchmaster siren, either the Delta or the TM4. I own both but hard to tell in this video. When you have the siren set to sweep in rolls off like that.

@bakerXderek. First one could be both TM4 or a Delta. Second one is clearly TM4. It has Dunbar Nunn tones.

@@znovosad555 Sad thing is, in some countries in EU like mine, most of the police officers don't even know how to use the sirens properly. They always use only the wail when responding, and they spam with the horn when they're coming to an intersection, instead of like changing the siren to yelp/phaser. Exact same situation with all of the other emergency responders 🤷‍♂️

I love the touchmaster delta and when the yelp switches back to the wail! Also gotta love how dark and tinted the windows are on the K-9 Vic the only thing it's missing is the hood louvers!

It's not illegal, it's just not required like callmeahsirhkp said. Some Cali officials in different cities and counties use them and some don't. Now had I lived anywhere in Cali (which I won't EVER live there because it's libtard territory) and I were a cop or fire/ems I would use the piercer tone anyway because it does a hella good job at clearing heavily congested intersections.

I know this is MAD late, but the K-9 was a TMD but the one using rumbler was a TM4. Love that handsfree with the caprice and the Z3 in the Tahoe too

The first crown vic is using a Unitrol Omega 90 and the second one woth the rumbler is using the Touchmaster TM-4

The Tahoe at the 0:47 mark was a Code 3 Z3 which is pretty much a standard patrol car siren in city police department’s across LA County in the SGV

Some cameras make steady burns look like they’re flickering. Probably just the camera.

KevinSun242 Also the priority is allowed in some departments. Not really a statewide law. Officers still use priority because there isn’t really a way to enforce it and if the tone works then it’s good enough.

CVC doesn't recognize any tones other than wail and yelp. It also doesn't recognize any colors other than black & white on police motorcycles, more than 4 front flashing white, any rear flashing whites, etc. It's not enforceable BUT it's up to the city/county to balance that risk. Contrary to popular belief, CHP does NOT enforce VC's on other agencies, rather, they simply advise them. For instance, you could get your speeding ticket dismissed if the vehicle didn't have any working steady red despite being caught going 140 mph on PCH. Which is why it was common in the older days of halogens to put TWO steady reds just in case one burns out. I upfit police vehicles and I often warn them of the conflict between what the agencies want vs what's now permissible via CVC.
