Inglewood students protest pending closure of Morningside High School

As a citizen of Inglewood you need to put on the ballot for that land to be used only for educational or public purposes and cannot be built upon.. This means Inglewood can't use that land for any of their sports arenas or all that other money that they're trying to gentrify you guys with

Man, my heart is broken 💔. This was my high school, class of 1990. I also went to Woodworth Elementary, now closed and Monroe. Closing Morningside is a horrible idea.

Fast forward 20 years later. And guess what happens.. Lawndale opens back up as a high school and now is one of the nicest high schools around

That's not what's happening here its not about improving our schools it about money and corruption plain and simple. The mayor of Inglewood and city council and of course Mr. Morinson, it's about money and greed. I guarantee you that none of these persons have children or grandchildren going to any of these schools where teachers and children are expendable where is the teachers union were is Al Sharpton. It should be the parents and children and other school districts families unifying to protest. What districts is next what communities are expendable to these fat pocket policy makers Torrance, Crenshaw, Compton, Gardenia soon they tell you that you may own your house but not the land so you either sell your house or move it. Like they did not so long ago in Hawthorne area for the Hawthorne mall that no longer exists. The housing they are planning won't be affordable housing it's going to be for the well to do the rich and elite for other ethnicities not Hispanic or African American

@@charlesweaver722 a version of manifest destiny.. I completely understand... Mid-60s I've watched many homes be torn out for freeways that did not happen here in Southern California.. I'm in Lawndale I witnessed 50 homes being demolished along inglewood avenue to widen the street... What's going on in Inglewood. In the guise of making their City better... In Lawndale they closed one of our high schools.. 1982... Try to sell the land to Northrop.. the citizens made that land only for park or School use only.. so it wasn't able to be sold... I know exactly what's going on... All those jobs in Inglewood that they're after talking about... Does not go to the citizens of Inglewood... Goes to people like me... International alliance of theatrical stage employees... Those are all union jobs... I tell those people you're no longer going to live here be able to afford here or even go see a show here.. it's complete greed... I live in a home I bought 10 years ago for $200,000 and it's worth $700,000 now ..... Nobody can purchase this home... I can't even purchase my own home again..m where does my kid go

My daughter started out in LAUSD, and is set to graduate IUSD, and as someone with Autism, she had much more support & resources than she would have had in LAUSD… She went from being denied speech therapy to Honor Roll, and her test scores are the top 5 percentile in the state… Parents also contribute to a student’s success, and failure…
