While I agree with these comments regarding that this shows that CGI done right can work well in an Anime.... that being said, the backstory of this anime would have been (imo) best captured using a realistic animation concept which would set a more serious tone to the story, like Violet Evergarden, or Cowbot Bebop. Could you imagine either of those being cgi? Just my 2 cents.

I was going to put it off because of the animation style, but I decided I'd watch it anyways because of the potential story (and of course because it's Ingress). I actually ended up really satisfied in the end with both the animation and the story, imo a season 2 would actually be a good idea (if it's cost effective), considering how much lore there is to go off of.

i had the game on my phone a while back but i could never figure it out, and i never could go very far anyways for lack of transportation. eventually i deleted it to free up space cause i rarely ever played it. now with everyone in quarantine/social distancing getting into Ingress right now might be a bit difficult but this anime is making me want to get into it and actually play it this time. i just watched episode 1 and it looks good so far. the animation takes a bit of getting used to, i don't mind cgi but for some reason the animation in this series feels a little...off? idk its weird. but the story looks interesting so far so i think i'll continue watching. it certainly makes me wanna give the game another try so i might just do that.
