One of my fav childhood memories is driving though Portland Maine and getting on a ferry to peaks island. Peaks island is a gorgeous island that you can only get to by boat. Haven't been there in a while I'd love to go back

Ingrid, I'm from Maine and I can promise you, you haven't seen everything yet. This place is absolutely beautiful, yet we're often forgotten. This is a wonderful state to grow up in and it will always hold a place in my heart. I love it here. The beauty of Maine doesn't stop at Portland. Come further north to Bar Harbor and I'd be happy to give you a tour. Acadia National Park is something everyone should get to see. Climb to the top of the mountain and you can see the whole of the town, explore the forest, go to sand beach, see Thunder Hole (and hope it's a windy day because that's when it's fun!), see the town, meet the people, go to Lamoine beach or go to a secluded beach, there is so much to see here.

I don't think you realize how happy this makes me. I grew up in Cape Elizabeth, and this is where I would spend a lot of my time. When I saw all of the places that I recognized, like Bull Feeney's, Fort Williams, the Lobster Shack, and everywhere else. Maine is just such an underrated state, because it is most certainly the most beautiful place I have ever been. The people there are amazing. The food is amazing. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING!!!

I went on a school exchange to Falmouth, ME and honestly was in awe the whole time. it's such a beautiful state and area and 3 years later i went back on my own as a 16 year old just to experience everything again without the stress of school. It was just so freeing and looking out at the ocean and just...being. To me, that's what Maine is all about. Seeing this has made me so nostalgic! The Lobster Shack is life.
