I'm sure it's annoying for him to hear the comments about his dad but he looks so much like his father! Plus there's the fact that he's covering songs and making music from the exact same genre U2 were inspired by. That being said it's neat to see him becoming his own person.

I hate to mention this as if this would bring up his father but this is the closest we can get to listen to U2 covering Joy Division. As you all know, Joy Division is his father's favorite and is also played a huge influence on U2 especially in their early years... but Idk, maybe somewhere a recording of those years exist... but for now, this is the closest we can get. Amazing.

It's 2 years on and they have indeed made a vast improvement over this clip. Saw them a few days ago and, despite being hungover from playing CHOB on St. Paddy's, they sounded really strong. Especially Eli's voice.
