MY BOUNDARIES (IMPORTANT)
stop asking me to make videos about ever after high. same with the winx club. no ifs, ands, or buts about it. i have said numerous times i dont care to watch, so quit trying to change my mind.
i make it clear what my niche is. literally say what it is in the beginning of my videos: nostalgia, family, and children’s entertainment. When i say nostalgia, that means nothing in the older demographic past the year of 2015 (because that is nostalgic for me)
so stop asking me to review these live action teen series on netflix like ginny and georgia, outer banks, and never have a ever.
yes, every once and a while i talk about something outside of my niche if i really want to, but i mainly put that content on my patreon.
i don’t do this all the time because i don't want to take away from the focus on my channel. like i did when i talked about don't toy with me miss nagatoro, and when cassie howard pissed me off and i included her in that white women tears videos. when i make these videos you guys keep getting on me to talk about things outside my niche.
if i have a video that is patreon only and you tell me to post it publicity on youtube, you’re blocked.
say something mean about my teeth or just my appearance in general, your blocked.

Out of all the Suite Life characters, I enjoyed Mr. Moseby the most because of his high-strung willingness to try to keep the Tipton Hotel in order, his exuberant eloquence, his moments of warmth and hilarity with London, and his overall prim and proper attitude. Speaking of moments of warmth with London, he also demonstrated that, despite his irritation with her air-headedness, he was strong enough to be akin to a father to her, for she herself needed guidance and direction which are something not even money can buy her way out from real-world situations.

I've thought for a long time about how a spinoff series about the Bennett family would've been so much more interesting a premise than the Originals. That character and her roots had so much potential that the CW let just float away like a fart in the wind. Over EIGHT SEASONS. Infuriating.

As much as I loved The Suite Life of Zack and Cody for things such as subverting the "dumb blonde" and "smart Asian" cliches, I admit it has its issues. One of the BIGGEST issues with the show is its portrayal of black characters in general. Mr. Moseby fits into the "magical negro" stereotype as you pointed out and Nia didn't get enough screen time to develop into a better character. I honestly think they should have given Nia more screen time. She was the PERFECT foil to Maddie AND London so adding her to their friendship dynamic would have been very interesting!

It's been forever since I watched the Suite Life series. The stereotype of Mr. Moseby makes sense though. Unfortunately. I don't recall ever seeing an episode about Mr. Moseby where it didn't revolve around the kids. He truly deserved better. Other than that, I LOVE YOUR PURPLE HAIR 😍💜🖤

While the trope is problematic, Mr. Moseby is my favorite because he was rightfully super annoyed with those annoying twins 😂. YES I said that because THEY ARE!!!! Moseby had a lot on his plate as the hotel manager PLUS making sure the owner's daughter London, can be taken care of. Moseby's exactly the type of father figure that London needed. Her real dad was neglectful.

Before Suite Life of Zach & Cody, Phil Lewis (who played Mr. Moseby) played Chandler's boss from Friends where the show sorta gave his character (Don't know his character's name from Friends) that same trope. Heck, even after Suite Life of Zach & Cody, he voiced a hotel manager in Phineas & Ferb, reuniting with his co-star Ashley Tisdale (who played Maddie) where the show gave his unnamed cartoon character that same tiring trope too. SMH. Shout out to Phil Lewis, such an amazing actor who deserves better roles.

I haven't rewatched the series in a long time but looking back on it now Maddie Fitzpatrick seems like a really on-the-nose Irish stereotype as well. Catholic schoolgirl from a huge, rowdy, implied-alcoholic poor family in Boston. Suite Life (both series) had a BIG problem with ethnic caricatures.

It's an odd coincidence that you posted this video the day that you did because I watched The Green Mile yesterday and hooo boy it plays into this trope to the extreme. In my opinion, it's the one glaring issue that holds it back from greatness, and I became eager to hear other people's thoughts on the trope. When it comes to Zack and Cody, however, I'm more familiar with On Deck than the other seasons so I'd be interested in hearing your comparison if that's on your to-do list!

When you mention there being a magical negro and token black character in plenty of Nickelodeon shows, the thing I wind up thinking about was Franklin from Peanuts. Charlie Brown already had a friend in Linus, but it seems like it was just easier for Charlie to befriend Franklin once he moved in the neighborhood. A constant tripe of us really just being there to make the lives of white people a little better than before.
