The whole movie makes Bunta look like a crazy addicted alcholic and a non-caring dad when in the anime Bunta always asked Takumi what happened after the races, drank once in a while but not too much, and really cared about Takumi. He taught Takumi how to drive differently and taught him some amazing skills that really made him good. He helped Takumi be who he is today

There are people stationed in corners with walkie talkies and they announce how the race is going. This is how it is in the manga and anime as well If you want a direct feed you'll have to follow them closely like Ryosuke did during Takumi VS Nakazato race. In MF Ghost there are drones providing live feed of the cars, so everyone can watch the race even from home

原作との違いが多い点で批判されがちだけど、「時間の限られた実写映画」という枠の中に頭文字Dを収める上で脚本家は相当良い思い切りをしてると思うのよ。 良さが出るのに時間を要する「ミステリアスキャラ」の文太を癇癪親父にしたり、スタンドの3人をイツキ一人で表現してしまったりする事で時短しながら物語としての厚みを保ててるし、 対してナツキに関する描写に時間をかけることで原作のドロドロ感を気持ち悪いほどトレース。 原作やアニメをしっかりオマージュしたカメラワークと見せ方、なによりそのカット数からくる誰もが唸るカーアクションシーン。 頭文字Dの美味しさを全部詰め込みつつ物語に破綻もへたりもない。 個人的にはどえらい映画だと思う。

公開日に仕事終わりにお店の先輩達を連れて映画館観に行って、DVDも出たらスグ買いました！懐かしい😊 今でも原作の頭文字Dは台詞全部覚えてるくらいマニアで大好きですが、そんな自分でもこの映画は良かったです。なによりも映像の疾走感はすごかったです。 やれ原作と違うとか、ここは秋名（榛名）山じゃないとか、ヤボな事はいいません😊

This movie might be cheesy at times, but quite honestly this is one of the very best car race scenes in existence. Every second of it it feels like an actual street race. The speed looks like the absolute limit these cars could do on that road, but it never looks unrealistic. The stunt coordinator and the director of this movie must be serious petrol heads. They did it right, and I wish more car related movies would be as good as this.

It's like someone watched the all the seasons and left out the important parts and changed the characters completely. There have been many good Anime adaptations to live action but this one changed completely. They didn't even use Japanese actors or done the movie in Japanese. If they were going for change then they should not have followed the plot of the anime. Just my two cents.

That’s because your father’s car has a different suspension height/ground clearance compared to an AE86, you dove too far into the gutter, and the gutter probably was deeper than Japanese gutters.

Plus, the AE86 actually was designed as a rally car, so it has rally wheels on it, which fit into the gutters perfectly. And furthermore, you’re supposed to *SLOW DOWN* before sliding the tires into the gutter, then accelerate through the turn and pop back out by turning in the opposite direction of the corner/hairpin/curve. Edit: forgot to mention that since the AE86 was designed for rally, it has some good ground clearance, which also helps with gutter running.
