Initial D (2005) Eurobeat Edit (Scene 3)

My rough draft of a Eurobeat edit of the second racing scene of Initial D (2005). I started watching this movie, expecting to hear the iconic Eurobeat soundtrack from the anime. When the soundtrack turned out to be extremely lame, I decided to try editing Eurobeat in instead. This is the result...
I did this with Adobe Premiere, knowing absolutely nothing about A/V editing going in. If anything sounds weird, it's because the dialogue and SFX were on on the same audio channel as the music. So I had to try covering up the original soundtrack by lowering all the original volume, or butchering it with some filters. Sometimes I had to mute the original sound altogether.

The whole movie makes Bunta look like a crazy addicted alcholic and a non-caring dad when in the anime Bunta always asked Takumi what happened after the races, drank once in a while but not too much, and really cared about Takumi. He taught Takumi how to drive differently and taught him some amazing skills that really made him good. He helped Takumi be who he is today

Depends where you watched it. It was filmed with each actor speaking in their native language (Jay Chou in Mandarin, Anthony Wong in Cantonese, the actress who played Natsuki in Japanese), and then they dubbed the movie into Mandarin/Cantonese/Japanese depending on the territory it was released in. The really should have gone with licensing some sweet Eurobeat tracks, though.

There are people stationed in corners with walkie talkies and they announce how the race is going. This is how it is in the manga and anime as well If you want a direct feed you'll have to follow them closely like Ryosuke did during Takumi VS Nakazato race. In MF Ghost there are drones providing live feed of the cars, so everyone can watch the race even from home

This movie maybe wasn’t the best anime live adaptation, but I really loved the way they focused on the details. They perfectly recreated the cars that showed up in initial d, even put amazing cars in background. Also you can see the huge power difference between r33 and trueno.

正直、全く車に興味無かった自分だけど コロナで出掛けるのを控えてた時に頭文字DのEUROBEATを聞いたら、そのまま｢いい曲だな｣と思うようになった そして、KZbinのオススメでこれが出てきた時に実写版があったのを知る しばらくしてからアニメ→劇場版→新劇場版→実写版という感じで見ていったらどハマり 何回も繰り返して行く内に実写版のDVDを最近購入 車はやっぱりいいね あと、最近はしげの秀一さんが連載してるMFゴーストも最高

公開日に仕事終わりにお店の先輩達を連れて映画館観に行って、DVDも出たらスグ買いました！懐かしい😊 今でも原作の頭文字Dは台詞全部覚えてるくらいマニアで大好きですが、そんな自分でもこの映画は良かったです。なによりも映像の疾走感はすごかったです。 やれ原作と違うとか、ここは秋名（榛名）山じゃないとか、ヤボな事はいいません😊
