I agree, as most of takumi’s races were predictable (he’s gonna win, duh) but this one was different. It had two other characters, both of which have probably lost at one point (Ryosuke lost to takumi, idk about rin) so it was possible for either of them to lose. And the danger of them quite literally battling (as in rin trying to kamikaze ryosuke off a cliff) this was not a normal race, and any outcome was possible. I didn’t expect the ending when I first watched this battle

Yeah stage 4 and 5 started introducing plot armor which killed it for me. In fact it started with stage three because he only reason that takami won was because of a pile of leaves. It just started becoming a stereotypical anime. Only differences is they use cars. Stages one and two were the best

I just realised yesterday that the GTR had slicks on (or it seems like it, manga readers correct me)... thats why his brakes failed. He tried to match his grip to weight to be the same as the FC, but didnt account the brakes overheating from that much intese braking. I hope it came through how much I love this anime, its a shame that 5th stage was created in 2013 and not like 2004. In the other dimension where 5th stage was made in 04 with the same style as 4th stage, my 15 yo self probably jizzed in his pants.

Carbon ceramics didn't exist in the 90s, and even then a 32 will overheat them along with the front tires. Because it's weight distribution is so off and because it's differential locks so hard, the front tires end up bearing a lot of the acceleration load when cornering. @@awdrifter3394

I know the whole point was for this scene to be dark and secluded but I can’t be the only one that wonderes what could have been if a cupple people just so happens to be in view of this whole thing. I mean people were around during the sil80 race so why not this one though to be fair the sil80 was a local racer and so the people knew if they went up there when they did they would probobly get a glimpse of it drifting where as no one knew this was happening at all though it still is crazy that no one was around with this anomies track record there is usually at least one random person sitting on the sidelines waiting for a car to come down the pass I woulda just loved to hear the crowds reactions haha
