In my opinion, Sakai was one of the opponents who could have beaten Keisuke if he didn't performed his dirty tricks too early. In 3rd Stage, Ryosuke explained that performing a technique to overtake or to widen the gap between you and your opponent too early will give them time to recover from a state of shock. So here's the what if. Sakai brake feints Keisuke near the finish line and Sakai has been able to widen the gap. Do you think Keisuke will be able to catch Sakai in time and drag the race into a 2nd round or Keisuke wasn't been able to catch up and thus Sakai won.

sakai would've break away then. but it was stated in the manga that sakai wanted to feint brake again, but Keisuke suddenly crashed in creating a new line in the penultimate corner.

It also depends on having an understanding of the car, track, and your own driving. The Supra failed in 5th stage because its engine and body was too heavy (even though it scared the bejeezus out of Keisuke).

Uh, if anyone was humbled in that race, it was the DC2 driver.... NOT Keisuke. The DC2 guy used dirty tricks to throw his opponent off, and he STILL couldn't win against Keisuke and his FD.

@@baz_tf Integra Type-Rs make 200 HP stock, naturally aspirated. This one is turbocharged and tuned, and the car's power rating is never mentioned, so I have no clue where you're getting this "50 horsepower difference" from. According to Kei, his FD was making 340 PS during the events of 2nd Stage. The Integra was probably making similar power to hang with it like it did, considering the two cars are roughly within a hundred pounds of eachother. Jussayin.

I doubt it would have been a walk in the park for Atsuro to beat takumi even on the uphill. That racing engine brings the power to weight ratio of the 86 to be similar to that of Keiuske's fd. Plus, Atsuro was probably one of the worst drivers in initial d, period. I think takumi would have won.
