I love the symbolism of the car sounds. The GTR sounds angry and demonic while the FC sounds is quieter and more relaxed. A perfect representation of both drivers

This was the first piece of Initial D media I ever watched. Because of that I always thought Ryosuke would be the classic main character, insanely skilled, serious and edgy. Turned out much better

This song fits so well for what was happening during the race. Hojo, Ryoske and their love interest Kaori as this whole race was a battle for her love but not what she would have wanted and were literally killing her love. Thanks for this remix/cut with the race.

there was a girl named kaori she was engaged with shinigami but kaori wanted to be with ryosuke then broke up with shinigami then kaori commited suicide now shinigami wants to kill ryosuke its even scary and sad in initial d

@@Navoer Tiny addition, maybe important, but Kaori was engaged with Rin Hojo ( driver of the black GTR, Shinigami is the nickname he gets later, which means personification of death, like grim reaper), because their parents arranged the marriage for them, purely to get better from it essentially, because rin hojo's father was a boss of a big company. Rin Hojo was in love with Kaori tho she was not in love with him, she fell in love with Ryosuke (white/silver FC3S) who also fell in love with her, but her parents forced her to stay with Rin Hojo so she offed herself, and so Shinigami/Rin Hojo (fitting name btw) gets very depressed, tries driving people off the road all the time, and really blames Ryosuke for it, who challenges him to a race to settle it all, tries killing him during the race, only for his brakes to go shot and he can no longer stop, at which point Ryosuke and the red 350Z who tagged along (Shinigami drove him off the road right before the race) save him by stopping him just before he runs into a gas station, that's about the whole broad story I think, I started off with "tiny" but I guess it's rather lengthy

@@tot5910it’s basically titanic but with cars. A girl named kaori is in an arranged marriage with rin (the guy driving the R32) but she falls in love with ryosuke and breaks up with rin which makes him threaten her that her father’s business will suffer as a result. Kaori’s father tries to force her to marry rin which causes her to commit suicide. Rin spent the next 3 years blaming ryosuke which is why he’s trying to take him out during this battle.

Tbh, most of the best scenes in anime don’t come from the ending, if this was the ending it wouldn’t be received as good cause it would kinda be out of place cause ryosuke isn’t technically an MC, I personally think that’s what makes the race good, there’s no plot armor because takumi isn’t racing

I think it's because the races became very predictable, you already knew that Takumi and Keisuke were going to win X race, but this one really became that breath of fresh air, the lore behind this race, The fact that Rin was going to the kill instead of winning, even the ending was something that nobody expected, it was no longer "winning the race" it was "saving Shinigami because his car lost the brakes and the bastard looks like wants to suicide"

@@StanceSantos Nope, because Shinigami is not a hero, as his name indicates he is a demon, a dark being, a Sith. While Ryosuke is "The white Comet of Akagi", a Jedi knight. Like in Star Wars, "Duel of The Fates" (a battle for destiny) matches better.

It wasn’t used in the anime but it was in the initial D arcade stage games and a lot of people relate it to this battle because the song’s lyrics are fitting to the story behind the battle
