Initial D, PS1 racing game

Other than the CGI the game looks pretty nice, and plays even better. Shame about the lack of Eurobeat, maybe they couldn't get the rights to it? Excuse my horrible driving, the video is meant to showcase the game rather than my skill at it. That video will come later.

Looks significantly better than the Saturn version, especially on the night stages, but still not on the A-level of Gran Tourismo, Sega Rally or Daytona CE. Nintendo 64, of course, would smoke this pretty easily. Oh, well, a fun video, thanks for sharing!

Have you tried emulating Naomi through Demul? Initial D v3 works really smooth on it with 60 fps and it has eurobeats. :]

I have not, no. I'll probably give it a go sooner or later, but I don't really like emulating games.

ghegs well it depends on emulation, but the Demul emulator has gotten really good Naomi 2 emulation. You can use wired 360 controller, or even any PC wheel for it.

My preference has nothing to do with the emulation quality - I just like playing original games on original hardware.

ghegs well we all prefer original hardware, but letting emulation pass to give up on good games that are otherwise not easy to get a hold of isn't bad at all. I would love to get a initial d original arcade cab, but it's going to end up costing a fortune. I'm just speaking in general, people tend to stay away from emulation because of buggy game play. I'm going to try buying the naomi 2 board, but it's not easy to come by for a reasonable price. The emulator also provides the ability of making a custom arcade build with better monitor and custom wheel that can be useful in a diy arcade cab.

I have more than enough games on original hardware (including a bunch of PCBs and MVS carts) to keep me busy for a lifetime even without having to dip into emulation. I'm unable to really sink myself into an emulated game, for me it's just a way of testing games and figuring out if I want to track down the real thing.
