Hello have a first addition bagger. Great bike. Took it to dealer last week for recall on headlight. Dealer found another recall on the reverse and disabled the reverse. Not pleased. Fix not available yet. Love the bike. If you have vibrations you are in the wrong gear. At 6'3" the wind screen causes buffeting. I trimmed one obtained from Amazon down in a bandsaw. Helmet now in open air much better. Have a Corbin seat with back rest. Flashed the ecu, dna air filter with top of filter housing removed. Have a HD sportster xr1200x and Ducati Diavel but spend most time on the R18B

Great comment. How do you find the Corbin seat? Is it heated like the OEM one?

I agree, or seat concept (if they make for R-style)

I'm currently in the market for a new bike, and the R18 is looking like a better option for me than a new Road Glide. I really appreciate your videos. They are informative and have gone a long way toward convincing me to go with the BMW.

Thankyou for your kind feedback. They are a beautiful machine and well engineered. German quality I suppose. I’ve never owned a HD so can’t compare but what I can say is that you will fall in love with the R18 more each day. Feels a little quirky at first with that boxer motor but once run in, it is a blast to ride. You’ll also get more attention than most bikes given it is so different. Good luck and keep in touch should you need an advice. Cheers

As an Ex R1100S owner and a current Moto Guzzi Audace 1400 owner I really like the R18. Harley owners probably will not jump ships to an R18 but for everyone who is thinking about getting a cruiser motorcycle it is a very good offering. The problem is people make up their opinion from KZbin videos instead of test rides. Had a friend who rented one out for a weekend trip and now he is looking for a second hand one because those bikes take longer than an hour test ride to get under Your skin. Yes they have link breaks. Great video!

Great comment and feedback. Really appreciated. I agree that you need to take them for a good test ride. I must say the more I ride it the more I love it. Harley riders are pretty cemented to those bikes but I like that the R18 because it is unique and in my mind a piece of art. I also like the BMW heritage. It gets more looks than a Harley I think. Take care

You need to use the heel shifter makes life much easier, you also have the wifi icon on your dash flashing because it wants to connect to your phone, which will give you maps on the TFT. The bike has intergrated brakes between front and rear.

Thanks for the advice. Just not use to using the heel shifter but it is a good option. Yeah worked out the icon issue. Cheers for the feedback

For the Price the R18B Blows the Harley or Indian out of the water!!!!!!

Fully agree. And the fit and finish is excellent. Dollar for dollar hands down kills most others.

Great review no BS. Are you still enjoying the r18 as I’m looking to buy one.
@AdventureRyderАй бұрын
Mate I am enjoying the bike more and more every time I ride it. It’s weird to get use to at first with the sideways movement if that boxer motor but I am quickly feeling more confident on it. I took it out for a ride today and bloody loved it. I highly recommend if you want something different that turns heads. Cheers

I like the bike. However, 90+HP on that big of a bike is truly a deal breaker for me. My sights are now set on the BMW K1600 GTL. It's a big bike with the power to match.
@AdventureRyder2 ай бұрын
Yeah I agree it could do with more power. The K1600 is a nice tourer I’d imagine. Good luck.

here in the states they cant give them away so if you really want one theres deals to be had . Ive test rode them an my biggest compaint is that it fills cramp im 6ft 2 an my size 14 foot doesnt work in that small foot well
@AdventureRyder3 ай бұрын
Hi. Yeah they don’t seem to sell that well here either. I understand what you mean by being cramped on the floorboards. I’m probably use to that having ridden mid controls all the time. Cheers for your feedback. Ride safe.

I'm 6'4 I don't know that all fit behind the boxer motor the whole reason why I haven't given up and bought a Gold Wing yet.
@AdventureRyderАй бұрын
Fair point. Being that tall would be tight. Those Gold Wings are beautiful with Honda reliability no doubt. Take care mate. Ride safe.

Hi there. Yes you can purchase these items separately. There are a number of aftermarket sites. This one is based in Poland but good quality: RoadStyler www.roadstyler.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwxNW2BhAkEiwA24Cm9GTFDPV1x_-FXzAO8DdzozfywhGwmKCNPWr8UQAzewsMzpDpIIY9yRoCNY0QAvD_BwE

You need to look at the R18 transcontinental

I didn't like the small 7 inch bags on the side. Just simply not enough room to pack gear in. Such as Indian, Harley or Can am

Agree they’re not very big.

i got 10,000 miles on my r18b , the engine turns into a paint shaker above 2,750 rpm , TOO BAD they didnt counter balance the engine

Interesting. Mines only relatively new and I don’t notice that. Time will tell though I suppose. Cheers for the feedback.

I had an R18 Classic and never had any vibration. In fact, other than start-up and idle, it was smooth as butter.
