Hi everyone and welcome for our first video dedicated to Assassin's Creed Initiates. In this video we will sum up for you what happened in the Present Day storyline after the death of Desmond Miles. All these informations are from the Surveillance channel from the Initiates Website.
It took us a lot of time to make it so we hope you'll enjoy it. And if you did don't hesitate to tell us in the comments, and we will do more videos like that :)

why do you hate it? I think it's a good way of getting new fans and keeping the old. Who would ever want to jump into a franchise in the middle of the story and being told: "haha.. you have to play ALL the old games if you want to understand shit" now you can enjoy an AC for it's concepts, but full with hints about what main story is. The players curiosity is tested. It is up to the players if they want to investigate more or not.

Thats is true. But ubisoft acts like the present day does not exist. They don't even comment on it for harecore fans, the need to stop neglecting the IRL storyline.

acts as it doesn't exist? The whole plot point of every single AC game til this date (not included ds Altair, haven't played those) roams around peaces of eden. They just don't simple force the present day in peoples faces any more. I think the main structure in every ac game is that the player re-lives a historical period through the animus. I'm guessing they want the players to jump over the "boring part" and go directly to the "fun part". To me it seams like they want the present day to be the McGufifin of the story. It's the small hints to the player: There is something strange here. But they are trying not to force it, because part of the fun is researching and discovering it. I think the main problem with that approach is that a lot of fans might be confused because it's so easy to miss some clues and information, that should have obvious to find, to understand the overall story

I both agree and disagree, I think Desmonds story was meant to end the way it did. I guess the big question was: Continue with a new main character and not? but yes, I agree that what you said might be the case of the change in the story structure in the games. To me this only proofs that the movie makers, listens to all their fans, and they've found a middle ground to settle on

Here's a question, why is the MAIN story of the franchise playing second fiddle to all of these pointless trips back in time?! Enough with the random historical settings already! They made sense originally but Unity had little to nothing to do with the present-day storyline and was just an excuse to set Assassin's Creed during the famous French Revolution! Give us a game set entirely in the present following the Initiates (maybe with a few trips back in time) and start wrapping up this story! The fact that I now have to look up online what's actually happening in the story instead of being directly informed through the main campaign of the games is ridiculous!

+shoogamoogaman AC 1 - They need to follow altair memories because the Specific memory about the location of Apple of Eden is not Accessable without Syncing (by following Altair memory from the place where that accessable) AC 2 - Desmond Miles need to learn how to become an Assassin so they visit Ezio memory of him Training to become an Assassin AC B - Same as AC 1, need to sync memory to know the location of Appel of Eden AC R - Desmond miles is stuck because Altair-Ezio-Desmond miles Memory is jumbled up, Desmond need to see what his ancestors have to show in order to get back up AC 3 - Desmond need to find a key, visit Connor need to sync to find the key location AC 4 - You worked for Abstergo to collect data about the "Pirate Era" but actually they want you to collect data about the Grand Temple by sync with Edward memory haven't played the rest lol, but i assume it all the same, they need to sync the memory with the ancestor to find that specific memory about Piece of eden location or something else

In AC Blackflag you work for abstergo to collect data for "a game" they are making... in fact they are seeking out the sage, some bloke with loads of ancient dna in his body. In AC Unity you are working with the assassins i believe and youre in paris because they believe arno came in contact with a sage whose body they want to reach before abstergo does.. i think its a fair connection, these games like the big historical periods, hence italy, the crusades, the american revolution and now the french revolution

and there are a few cry baby dumbasses who don't like the modern day part of the game. I love the modern day part and wish there was more of it like a more equal ratio of animus and modern day. But I guess the game will get way too long and too much to produce onto a disc if there was the usual animus stuff plus all that modern day added on top.

Because it's not supposed to be? It's meta to right now, OUR modern day - day by day. So this already all happened when it did. The games are already caught up. Example. All this happened before the release of Unity. So this all takes place before Unity. It can't be released in a game afterwards. It's called transmedia / meta storytelling.

I must admit I give my respect to this and others die-hard true fans of AC Universe. I myself are an AC Fan but only true to the game's storylines only since 2007. I'm always filled with knowledge of the gaps in the series and even behind-the-series because of TRUE AC FAN. Thank you.

was i the only one that found the present day setting in ACIV quite awkward and slow? I mean, I really wished they had given Sample 17, aka The Researcher a real name and a personality. I suspect that in the next two installments he gets inducted into the Assasssin Order and ends up getting the Bleeding Effect and becoming stuck in the Animus like Desmond in Revelations.

Yeah the present day was a little awkward. It didn't feel like any of the previous games. When we played as Desmond up until ac3 it felt so awesome because of the mystery of the places, the story and characters. In 4 it just felt awkward.... I'd prefer them make a new lead character for modern day. Maybe the Russian girl? I think it's what the series needs so they can actually make the modern day very interesting, atmospheric and filled with mystery. Write the modern day just as amazing as the past. I think the series would be complete then instead of the awesome past story with bits and chopped up pieces of modern day. If they add so much more to the modern day, the series would be very close to being a complete game.

I found the present day setting awkward in every AC game. I think they should just dump the modern day gameplay and take it to a webcomic or something. It just never worked for me, and I'd rather just seek out the story on the internet rather than play it in the game.

Sample 17 is Desmond. He was Subject 17, but when he died, his blood samples were taken hence the name Sample 17.

Same here, I wish they gave the analyst (ACIV modern-day character) a name, personality and, well, some character. Would of been interesting to see how an outsider to this whole Assassin-Templar War business saw it when going through the Animus and dealing with John. We have the journal but that isn't much. The developers said that the analyst's identity is left ambiguous because he (or she) is meant to be the embodiment of the player themselves into the AC universe. Still would've preferred an actual character.

I guess the idea of an anonymous modern-day researcher is for us to feel like we are the only playing the game, which ironically, we are. So not giving him/her a name feels like we are playing them, like we feel awkward when we were told to wait while Olivier talks to Melanie; or to feel cautious when John told us to use the hidden lift to sneak into Olivier's office. I guess that's what we are supposed to feel.

Also, at present day, some assassins (or one assassin) in Chicago hired someone to KNOCK DOWN (I don't understand why I'm so furious about this, maybe some of the Watch_Dogs players understand) the CCO of Abstergo Entertainment, Olivier Garneau. And the one being hired, his name is Aiden Pearce. So, as a conclusion, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually will make a game called Assassin's Creed: Watch_Dogs. But in the mean time, I don't think UbiSoft would do that.

Whoa. I must say, The story was pretty well-thought out. A bit far-fetch but it was very intriguing. After all the assassin's had accomplish so much from the past, The templars gained an upper hand in the modern times. Placing Politicians who had connection to the templars to key positions, ordering the military to raid out the hidden assassin order. This getting juicier. I can feel it. I wonder if in AC unity might give the modern assassin to fight back.

Subject 16 SAVED Desmond in the animus, remember?. Eve (her blood line) and Desmond son, had the answer. Back then when AC had a really GREAT plot.

achievement lists and walkthrough videos on here have been uploaded, of course please be cautious if you do read/watch them if you don't want any spoilers. I only read the number of memory sequences and watched the first 3mins of each to see how both start. Please spare a thought for others and don't spoil anything especially endings. On Rogue there are only 6 sequences but least naval and side missions will keep you busy, but modern day like black flag is back and according to comments it seems abstergo employee (you) has a more important role to play this time instead of just hacking and being a mole. After a slight Desmond "this is my story" style speech you get thrown in as Shay the assassin chasing your close friend (same sort of first mission on black flag). On Unity it has 12 sequences but didn't want to look further down the list to see what modern day there (achievement lists can have spoilers) but getting into the game the shock I had was OMG I'm glad Ubisoft kept that quiet, you guys have to find out for yourselves ;)

Eurdito is The Initiates. In AC3 they proved Abstergo's true intensions useing their advertisments and they said they were going to disrupt their system to make sure the Templars do not take control. Note the red background at the end of the video.

Yeah, but, unlike Erudito, the Initiates are neutral. Which means that they are not against Abstergo or against the Assassins (while Erudito is totally against Abstergo). The Initiates' purpose is just to know what's going on.

The initiates are us. There's a website called "acinitiates". It's clearly meant for us, the players, to be involved in the modern day story in some way.

what I want to know from Ubisoft and maybe initiates will touch on this some day is what is Erudito except for being hackers, is it one person or a group and hopefully we will se them in the game some day too. We only see them mentioned like in emails and in Liberation and the facebook project legacy game but I been thinking surely Abstergo servers aren't easy to hack remotely and cover their tracks to not be traced and in the legacy game Giovanni Borgia became possessed by a first civ and called himself the erudite god and Juno had the power to contact desmond through email so maybe Erudito is Juno or another first civ

I really think somehow Watch Dogs' story connects to post-Desmond storyline. Like all that technology and shit going on and our dude trying to stop it. Dedsec and whatever all these things that control people's lives and shit maybe Juno's doing something with'em. Or ya know pieces of eden making that much technology possible to happen. Also the hacking thing with Abstergo sounds very strange. Well hacking after all is a thing we are familiar with... in Watch Dogs. I really believe that Watch Dogs' is in the same universe as Assassin's Creed for a reason.

If they came to Earth from somewhere else why didn't they still have the technology to build some sort of spaceflight capable ships and just leave before the solar flare hit?
