I also like that although Eivor wears it that way due to her culture, later on Basim and Eivor have a conversation where Basim basically says "You kinda see the purpose of stealth though?" And Eivor is a bit conflicted, yet Basim gets her to admit that being stealthy has helped her a bit in her goals so far. Eivor agrees with this. I like this development where even though her nature is to not use deception, she does see the benefit of using stealth at times.

okay so, ac nexus follows you as a brotherhood hacker acting as a templar hacker. you go into memorys of Ezio, Kassandra and Connor. which in tern means there are 4 different stories. (including modern day). Ezio go's after the cult of hermes. kassandra helps the athienians take back Athens from a turncoat spartan spy. and connor does a few mission for revolutionarys. in modern day you explore memorys to find pieces of the nexus eye (a esu computer used for predicting the future) because they are in memorys you cant phisically bring them with you. so abstergo tells you to plant beacons in the memorys. the brother hood comes in when you have to plant logic bombs over those beacons preventing the templars from retrieving the nexus eye pieces.

The combat factor of it is just as great, with it being a rewarding but challenging weapon to use in combat.

19:51 Easily my favorite Assassin Hidden Blade. It's so creative, and indicative of the time period without looking like a mess like Syndicate. A Rambo-styled knife and a Taxi-driver material. sh*t. Even the green gives me Nirvana vibes. Only thing it's missing is story significance in a good game for a good character, then it'd be a better matchup. I'd also be interested in an ac game using the dismantling/assemblage of a hidden blade for a dramatic kill at the narrative's end. An idea as novel as that should have been implemented for Desmond and would have painted the kill of Vidic for example as a perfect culmination of his training

Tis good video, the individual break down of your own thoughts on each blade design and then trying to work out how you would rank them was entertaining and interesting to watch for a different view point of taste (I have a preference for understated though I feel it still needs to have a bracer design) But.... I cannot sit comfortably with you saying that the single edge on the shadows blade makes it better without providing a counter argument. Having only one edge instead of two edges on a knife means that the slash is more effective, it does reduce the stabbing capability, but more importantly the number of directions you can attack in. While on a normal blade this can be adjusted for by changing grip but this issue is exacerbated by the fact that it is attached to the wrist. This would prevent the blade from facing another direction while keeping the point in the same direction and reduce effectiveness (main example I can come up with is attacking a throat from behind, only the blunt side is accessible comfortably). Also because of where it sits its also in the optimal position to stab and pointy is good for getting through armour weak points. That being said it looks really nice and the blade design is one of my favourite looking. Reminds me of either a peshkabz or yataghan dagger, though the one with the similar pattern is opposite side of asia. (Royal armouries online collection really fun to look through) Did I make a rant about a small off hand comment? Probably. But I researched knives for a year and I need to get something out of it so If I can share information I will take any oppertunity I can get. Hope it is informative or intesting

My favorite is the chain blade concept for AC3, with the razor wire blade coming in a close second. Makes me wonder why Naoe doesn't have a chain blade; the kyoketsu shoge existed and preceded the kusarigama, as did the kunai (I severely wish the hidden kunai wasn't developed by templars).
@spydersoup8447Ай бұрын
Well, the reason why the chain blade was cut is because it was considered to be too fantasy for a historical based game like Assassin's Creed, like it looks more like something out of Fable than Assassin's Creed, which is why for the final game they replaced the chain blade with the robe darts.

When it comes Naoe's hidden blade, one neat thing about it is the blade itself and its' dagger mode is based on a tanto, which is a Japanese dagger which was traditionally used by samurai. Also, fun fact about the phantom blade is the first time it was thought up canotically was by Leonardo da Vinci who designed the phantom blade for Francesco Vecellio in the early 1500s. Also, when it comes to Kassandra's hidden blade design in Nexus, it's the same hidden blade as in her appearance in Valhalla and her storyline is set 20 years after Odyssey and I noticed that it's a thin blade and it's not quite as bulky as Darius's, which suggest that Kassandra's is actually an improved version while meanwhile in Egypt, Darius's original would be passed down with only a few changes made over time with no knowledge or even awareness that someone else had already made a better improved version, which I actually like that as it shows how Kassandra became more isolated from the ever changing, evolving world durring the centuries with only a few times in the timeline where she would show herself like the Valhalla event and the opening of Codename Jade where she would team up with Wei Yu, and what's even more interesting is she wore the hidden blade under her forearm instead of on top like the latter Assassins implying that she made this hidden blade to replace the Spear of Leonidas after its' powers was finally exhausted for good and to use it manly for stealth and she didn't even sacrifice her ring finger to use it or even accidentally sliced her finger off while using it, and this was centuries before Altair would get the knowledge to make the modification to the hidden blade to insure it can be used under the forearm safely without removing the finger, so this suggests that unlike Bayek, Kassandra is a lot more careful of using it under the forearm.

Nexus's plot: Abstergo is looking for pieces of an Isu machine to combine with the Animus to make technology that could predict and influence human behavior. These fragments are all in different eras (Ancient Greece, Italian Renaissance, American Revolution). The Assassins hire a double agent hacker (you) sabotage them. Ezio's storyline is he uncovers a a conspiracy that results on another attack on a recovering Monteriggioni and an attack on his life. This takes place between Brotherhood and Revelations Kassandra's storyline is that she's in her own conspiracy with Greek politics This takes place after Odyssey Connor's storyline is tasked to eliminate Aidan Galway which of course leads him down his own conspiracy paths including a Templar who doesn't like Haytham. This takes place during AC3. Outside of the fragments, there are small things that do link the three eras together. And of course this is a massive over simplified summary. lmao Unfortunately Connor's storyline is the weakest because it's restricted by it's placement within AC3 timeline. Ezio's storyline is the best and Kassandra's is better than Odyssey (though the bar isn't very high for that)
@spydersoup84472 ай бұрын
Though one neat thing about Connor's storyline is the second half of it is actually a retelling of a real thing that's happened during the American Revolution and Connor helps out with it, which is something that we haven't seen in the AC series in a long time, having historical events being retold and the protagonist is involved in it, which is something we hoping to see more of in future games like in Assassin's Creed Shadows, but we'll see.

I think masyaf assassin's having to sacrifice their fingers for creed is due to Al Muallim being a manipulative cult leader type of character. It makes sense Al Muallim demanding his followers a bond in blood as such a sadist demand that also has a a very possessive and controlling nature, accepting your ring finger to be cut off pretty much shows a blind loyalty. (+ Al Muallim pretty much had everyone in masyaf brainwashed with the apple of eden's influence so yeah I think finger sacrifice is a very fitting gimmick also in line with historical assassin's of hasan sabbah as he pretty much had them hooked on opiate drugs therefore ensuring blind loyalty, if you could call that loyalty at that point, more like slavery or addiction which can open a person to be manipulated.) ps. early 16th century: from French, from Italian assassino, from Arabic ḥašīšī ‘member of Nizari branch of Ismaili Muslims’, literally ‘hashish-eater’, probably originally a derogatory nickname, with reference to the supposedly erratic behaviour of the members of the sect, as if they were intoxicated by hashish. probably the first example of crackhead warfare tactics.

So, from my time trying to understand the plot of Nexus, it's mainly about trying to stop Abstergo once again, but here's a disappointment to it, Connor's story takes place DURING the events of AC3 and not any point after whereas Ezio's is in between Brotherhood and Revelations and of course Kassandra's is after Odyssey, but before her meeting with Eivor.
