Forcing a return to fossil fuel generation. There is a movement at the federal level to remove damns but the three west coast states are activley removing them without reason. Soon only petroleum will be the only choice. It is also the only resource that qualifies oil tycoons for tax exemptions and is the highest carbon taxed product whose tax is paid by everyone in the country instead of only the rich as they first promissed.

Please read the initiative. Last year WA State approved a ban on all new construction homes and businesses regarding natural gas. It severely increased restrictions on new appliances to existing structures. The result is higher natural gas costs to everyone in the State, and prevention of new customers. The limited number of homes in urban centers with wood stoves means electricity is the only fall back for heat. What will do when the lights go out to stay warm?

Natural gas is methane and when it is NOT burnt it is eight times more destructive to the ozone than CO2. Natural gas is cheap to harvest and is far less evironmentally damaging than petroleum products. Our leaders and their bosses benefit from the use of petroleum products and the untraceable carbon taxes they put on them. If they ban natural gas as a fuel they will have to find a way to capture the methane in another way and that will be expensive and damaging to the environment everytime there is a leak. The only concievable reason to ban it is because it is in direct competition with petroleum as a fuel source.
