Side Effect is one of my favs! My first bottle was a tester with no box and they have the main notes engraved on the back. It lists cinnamon bark, tobacco, saffron, dry amber and sandalwood.

There’s a reason Initio calls this side effect; it would be great if they had a warning label attached to it. Side effects may include: sexual magnetism, compliments, people asking what you’re wearing, falling head over heels in love. I got my nose on this last year, it is extremely well composed.

while on vacation I went into a Nieman's to purchase Creed M.I. . well I noticed they had Initio and decided to give a smell for the first time, Sprayed Rehab on one arm and Side effect on the other. Purchased Rehab and a few more things and walked back to my hotel. All through the rest of the day I could not stop myself and my wife from smelling the Side Effect arm. The next morning I walked back to Nieman's and purchased Side Effect. Came home from My trip and ordered Oud for greatness lol. Intitio is definitely doing something right in my opinion .

@@unheardxeno9856. It’s worth the 💵. To me it is a more refined version of Bentley, with a better dry down. If Bentley came out after, then they tried really hard to copy it. If Initio came out later, than they made it so much better!! It is definitely a top 5 in my collection.

It does seem to me that after it goes through its paces, vanilla is the scent you catch the most. Now I only have had the sample, I haven’t bout a full bottle yet but it is definitely higher on the list with a few others from this brand.

Av heard so much about this fragrance (side effect). I dont know how this fragrance will have so much effect on people especially in the fragrance community. I have only had that from bvlgari man in black and that's it. I've also seen it from aaron terence and others. I really dont know how intoxicating a fragrance can be. I wore it by accident last Christmas and I probably didn't know I wore it because I layered other fragrances with it. After the wedding, my brother told me that the decant we exhausted was ' side effect', but I also wore several gallons of fragrances 😄😄 before the wedding as well

The opening is actually the worst in side effect. For the first 10 to 15 mins smells very medicinal and after that the magic happens. Lasts for an eternity and is a huge compliment puller.

I don't get the hype. I have Side Effect, but i'm not a huge fan. To me it smells like a synthetic overly sweet plum in the opening. I don't get any leather accord at all, and to me this scent leans really feminine. I much prefer Rehab, Blessed Baraka, Mystic Experience or Absolute Aphrodisiac.

I just got a decant of this today and wore it to work. It's warm, boozy opening instantly reminded me of Bentley's For Men Intense. So much so I'm tempted to think the Bentley is a dupe of this. However, this is clearly more refined than the Bentley. A couple of hours after the drydown the scent of Ambroxan just takes over and overpowers everything else. On the plus side, it doesn't clash with the scent of cigarette smoke as I'm a heavy smoker. I get that it's hyped up as a perfumer's perfume. I also get that Middle Eastern scents are the rage these days because notes like Oud and Ambergris is so exotic. But this is too much. I'm 37 but this perfume doesn't work for me. You need to be at least 55 to rock this effectively. Where the rougher and less refined Bentley reminds me of a British gentleman's drawing room or hunting lodge this evokes images of a 55 year old thrice divorced gent whose favorite haunt is the local casino. He parks his ass on his "lucky" slot or poker table everyday, a glass of rum or whiskey precariously balanced on a ledge, cards or the lever on one hand and lit cigarette on the other. In a few years I suspect Ambroxan and the smell of Ambergris in general will go the way of Aldehydes as people realize freshie minimalist scents are superior to this.
