I think when a Doctor prescribes Insulin to a patient. Then that patient should be shown how to inject themselves before they leave that office. Or be sent to a Diabetic Education class that will show and monitor that patient injecting themselves. This should be done before a patient injects themselves for the first time. If this isn't done, then the Doctor that prescribed the Insulin, should not be practicing medicine. No one should have to watch a video, to educate themselves on such an important issue.
@MrGlendale1118 жыл бұрын
Well I'm sorry to inform you, but yes there are Doctor's offices that most definitely do not show the patient how to inject themselves. You are very rude and very uninformed. Either that or you don't have a working knowledge of English.

WTF is your problem? Some of not most people should be SMART enough to ask their doctor to show them how to use it properly. It still helps to have these videos to help people like me to use the pen in the right way. GET OVER YOURSELF!!
@MassStLawrence11 жыл бұрын
call your pharmacy and request a refill. They will contact your doctor and get a refill prescription, but if you haven't been in for awhile, you may have to make a follow-up appointment. If they take more than 48hrs, I would call your doctor's office to make sure they got it.

If it stings you may be injecting directly into muscle. I know the video shows that but some people, like me can't do that. I have to inject into belly, or arm fat. You should also pinch up the skin to reduce the surface tension. You may need someone to help you if you are thin. Good luck.

It's old but yes. The test is to ensure that the needle is working, so whenever you use a new needle you have to do the test.

@MrGreek2710 жыл бұрын
because the point of the needle will turn a little bit and the second time can be painful, and the other reason is that the biological remains ( eg blood) on the needle get contaminated with bacteria and u can get an infection

Ann Richard the dial will not go past 0
@jasonstoltzfus68627 жыл бұрын
Hello. Say you need 50 units but when you are turning the dial to 50 and it stops at any number below 50, whatever number it stops at is how much is left. so if it stops at say 40, then get another pen, new needle, turn dial until 10 to get the rest of the dose you need.
