There is so much value in this post!!! Thank you Dr Tim! I’ve always trusted palpation here over anything. While palpating a zygoma and the arch in a training environment I asked the model were you in an accident? And she said yes she was kicked by a horse in her cheek. Upon palpation there was a massive dip in the zygomatic arch and you could feel trauma. She’s been a model for years and no one had ever revealed that or discussed it with her… Also using the needle tip as a tool is some thing I found to be as extremely great value as my injections have gotten better. this free advice here is solid gold!

This is outstanding. I love the way you look at anatomy and how it integrates with beauty and technique. I think it would be great if you took this "focused lecture" approach into other areas: temples, chin, jaw, perioral, and of course, lips....but I know the lips have become a discipline all on their own (as they should). Bravo! I especially like the part where you break the zygomatic arch into 4 quadrants and talked about what would happen if you were "off" in any direction. This was a perfect fit for the info you have already given i've been looking for information how to recreate. The o g curve. This touches on it quite a bit but I would love it if you could treat someone that is a need of this. I saw that miranda is a great example of this but maybe you could show someone who want a more dramatic end result. But specifically if you were to this on a woman with major mid face deficits. Including the hollow that forms at the ligament at tear trough and follows the masseter all the way to thr jawline i would. Love to see what you do with the patient that has severe facial atrophy in this area all the way to the chin. Its very difficult to find the courage to leave the house every day.Especially when you have minimal funds to tackle the issue.I need to know what is the best possible treatment option so that I don't waste any money i do know that sculptra is a good one.And I am in the process of using that. Althought it doesnt work well for mid to lower face. Wondering about radiesse for the OHGEE CURVE

Thanks for the info. Question for you. I've been injecting (with a cannula).. trying to visualize the anatomy. starting from the anterior cheek, among for the zygoma. Popping through 2 thin fatheads(I think) and then there is a very small space between the muscles where I can feel the cannula on bone. I advance superior and I think my tip is just under the attachment of the elevators and the masseteric ligament.? I feel like it lifts the jowls quite a bit although I can't always get to the spot with every patient. What do you think is going on in this situation?

What do you suggest when cheek filler makes the tear troughs look more hollow and skeletal. It’s very hard to find anyone that is willing to inject tear troughs wear in am. Can the zygomatic arch be injected somewhat differently to avoid this? Thank you.

Can I ask why you don't inject cheeks directly on the bone or use a cannula?

I usually do inject on the bone, except where the bone is tapering off into high-risk areas- inferior to the zygoma where I inject in the fat. Cannula is less likely to get into a vessel, but filler ends up more superficially and less stable imho.
