I think the two mud races were a factor is keeping the top guys safe also

More luck. Dragon backs are the most dangerous obstacle, but we have seen full races with a dragon back feature in them with no crashes. Whoops are a separator. That’s a must in supercross, hell arenacross has bigger whoops sometimes.
@ladylog54708 ай бұрын
The most dangerous part of these tracks r when they don’t prep it good enough in between races n now they have 450 heats goin first so by the time 250s get out there it’s insane what they have to ride on. The sports dangerous if they keep tryn to “make it safe” pretty soon they’ll be gettin rid of pointy jumps and every other separator
@SauceyDad8 ай бұрын
Dragons n massive whoops claim more collarbones/ shoulders than anything else. Def right about a separator, and they still are. If the only downfall is closer racing I think it’s a pretty smart change. I wanna see the stars of the sport at 17 rounds

The bigger obstacles bring bigger crowds. $$$. I don’t remember this many injuries week to week with the tracks in the 70’s,80’s and 90’s. Awesome content Donnie

Thanks for the Thrasher update. That must of hurt!!

Hard to say we shouldn’t of seen a red flag in Detroit after this weekend. The price we pay for an an NBC spot I suppose. Consistency isn’t exactly our specialty to begin with lol Track changes have to be credited for the reduction in big injuries, right? I think the racing is as good as ever if not better so…no complaints here!!

The SX season always starts strong, then a lot of guys get seriously injured. It sorta dims the racing the more ride injured or drop out.
@michaelkinnear52098 ай бұрын
With the steel start pad equalizing the start launch, it looks like the hole shot device is now the source of ill handling bikes when handle bars get tangled going into turn one and beyond. This needs to change!

Oh gosh. You jinxed him. My son had a mom tell him he was made of rubber because he had some INSANE crashes and was always good. A few months later he broke his ankle, 4 months later broke the other ankle then this summer at Redbud he broke the first ankle again.

I'm old (60 years), Thrasher crash would've snapped me in half.

Well as far as rider safety is concerned no one and I mean no one should listen to the media much less the comments on YT. So not the best question to ask IMO.

notice how most of those crashes, Nate, smith, and ryder d all crashed in the curved rhythm section

Shows some could handle the speed and different lines of the section and some didn't have the speed and totally crashed out....

Curious what could have caused Thrasher’s concussion. It didn’t look like he smacked his head really hard anywhere. Lucky for him to leave with just some relatively fast healing injuries
@wcz618 ай бұрын
That Thrasher crash was super hard to imagine what that felt like. Lucky he has such a long time to heal.

Need more things that only the Top 3-5 guys can do well, be that bigger whoops, or bigger jumps right out of the corners. There needs to be a bigger separator out there.

Thrasher is a perfect example of why Tomac is not pushing it.

Lol dont compare the great Eli Tomac to Nate Crasher. Tomac wouldnt ride out of the stadium with no injury. Not once but twice. 😢😢

This is just my opinion and I'm not here to argue. That being said I for one like that there are no dragons backs. I don't mind a longer whoop section as long as they aren't huge. I also don't have to ride or race them so my opinion really doesn't matter 🤣😂🤣😂 it seems that the riders don't mind that they don't have to deal with dragon backs

Nate crasher?, go go gadget seat..I'm glad he's good though
@Tmogangsta7148 ай бұрын
These are professional riders that need to be tested these older riders probably wouldn't be riding as good as they are if they had a longer whoop section and I love seeing a dragon back out ther.just seems funny the austian bike are sucking in the whoops and just like that they shorten the whoops.i don't know how many times I've watched a rider in position to pass in the whoops only to to have them run out of whoops
@markcyre41998 ай бұрын
Dragons back with a gap you have to clear after it isn't good for anything but sending guys to the hospital. Hated it from the first time I saw it. Glad they are putting this effort into rider safety.

Detroit was the worst most boring racetrack ever. Now they come to Glendale and it was an awesome racy track. Loved the long rhythm section, made for some awesome racing. Finally another good race weekend. Hope they never race Detroit layout again.

Detroit is always a stop we attend. Is there any way to explain to track builders that a 90 deg first turn at the edge of the stadium is a recipe for disaster? It was a shit show.

Dragon backs are an unnecessary obstacle that increase the risk of injury to the riders. Just look at Cooper Web's crash a few years back when he ended up on the concrete. I'm all about challenging the riders and creating a good race, but you really don't need obstacles that have a high probability of taking riders out for multiple races. Seriously.
