Seth come on man. You are one of my favourite bodybuilders but first you have hopped back on gear despite being warned not too with your health and now you’re just ignoring injuries. Personal choice or not, your being reckless brother and I say this with respect to you. Look at Ronnie Coleman now in a wheelchair because he continued to push through injuries. Get the surgery bro, we all got your back and we will all respect you for it. Let’s get you back on full form so you can keep this content coming for years to come

Hey Seth. As a guy about your age that has had to make a similar decision (labrum). I got the surgery. It sucked. It took years to recover. My surgeon and therapist both asked my expectations. I told them I needed to be able to box, grapple, and was expecting a bodyweight overhead barbell press, 2x bodyweight barbell bench-press and dead hang pullups. My surgeon told me I'd never do those things if I did not get the surgery. And I was being a little optimistic with those goals after a surgery. My physical therapist straight up told me I shouldn't do those things and probably wouldn't be able to. I recovered. I smashed my goals. It sucked. But I made it happen. Sometimes you've gotta made a hard short term decision that will benefit you in the long run.

How long until you could go over head. I’m a year and a half post surgery and I still can’t. When I say I can’t I mean I CAN’T
@_NKBD3 күн бұрын
@@randalgordon8822 It took a few years to move weight over-head. My shoulder was pretty bad and its anchored to the bone in 3 places. If I go too hard with volume/frequency I get a lot of inflammation in my shoulder still. Cortizone shots help with that but the best method is not letting it build up. First year after I only did physical therapy exercises and I went on 5-6 mile walks (walking dog) every night. Second year I started with light machine work at high reps. Third year I ran barbells/dbs slowing increasing weight. 4th year started training hard like normal. I'm about 5 years out now. Don't rush the process. Slowly add range of motion and volume. 20-30 rep sets to start.

I absolutely shredded my ACL and Meniscus back 7 years ago and had a Hamstring graph my Hamstring is just as strong if not stronger than my opposing one ☝️ thank god but my leg definitely atrophied and it was so depressing and sad to go through but you pick yourself up and when your able to start doing pt and see the progress and strength and size come back that shits addicting to watch and get consistent. Im sure you’ll probably have very little to any PT or major recovery, but I hope you heal as fast and optimally as possible 💪 keep the gains training rolling.

What you said about other parts of your body compensating is very true, and that alone is the reason why I would personally be dealing with it sooner rather than later. Speaking as someone who can’t even run at 30 years old as a result of ignoring a knee injury for too long. I have a feeling we may be similar in that when people tell me what to do, I want to do the opposite. Sorry if that’s a misread. Good luck to you either way, been watching you for half my life.

Your workouts have given me alot of guidance and this year alone i've been able to push myself alot harder than i thought. I know you have a dream that has an element of time pressure but here is the once a year i put down a comment. As all fitness is tied to one's capacity for self love i feel your compromising your vision by not getting the surgery. But if you don't that is fine too its a deeply personal choice. I just don't want you putting weight on the pain and problems it costs you to skip surgery instead of the results. Your blessed enough with the resources to be out acouple months and still be a competitor Seth so use them.

Get the surgery man, it's WELL worth it. Had the same problems, had 1 ankle surgery from a compact fracture, then 2 years later I needed reconstructive. Tight tendons, repaired everything. Recovery really sucked for the amount of time I couldn't put pressure on it, but in the long run it was all worth it. ALSO, don't get that cart thing they give you, get the peg-leg thing so you can get around after 4 weeks, so much better than the cart!

You could do the surgery and properly tape it and start training in 4 weeks on lower, never stop upper. I know because I’ve done it for football. Taped it everyday for like 2 months when I was being active. Peptides you’ll be 100% by late march. Never fixed the broken bones they were already setting, they never bother me, just stick out a little. Find someone that can tape for football or soccer. Also reach out to hafthor, that was the fastest chest tear recovery ive ever scene.
