This video is a daily vlog chronicling my rehab journey as I heal from a femoral neck stress fracture, and make my way back to running marathons. Thanks for watching and as always, "Run Tall, Run Strong, and Be Kind to Each Other!"

Happy belated Birthday. 🥳 The card is super cute. It takes patience for marathon training, same goes for injury recovery. I fully feel your itch to return to running but it’s important to follow what your body tells you. Getting healthy is paramount.

The name of the game for now is base building and strength training. I feel like I'm in the longest base building / cross training block ever.... lol.

Yeah Tim it can be a bit of a quandary sometimes which pain we can run with and which we can’t, but no question stress factors are NOT to be toyed with!! STAY PATIENT!!!! 💪🏻🚴🏻‍♀️💪🏻

Hey thanks. Will do. Fortunately I'm between training blocks and can just focus on all of the stuff that I can do. I went on a great little bike ride around town today. All the sunshine really lifted my spirits. It was great to see all of the schools kids out of class enjoying the weather which I assume was a field day or something like that for them. I loved field days as a kid. Have a great day.

@@RunTall WONDERFUL!! Btw, having spent many many hours on the elliptical myself when nursing an injury or niggle and/or recovering, what has absolutely saved me is the Runseeker Running Music channel where you an choose the cadence that suits you ... maintaining the rhythm to their music can make a couple of hours on the elliptical actually fun when I really get into it!!

Sorry to hear about your stress fracture but I'm glad you are getting close to being able to run again. It's a frustrating injury. I am wishing you a speedy recovery!!!

Been running injury free for a few years now. Couple weeks ago thought that it would be good idea to do some core work exercises which I’ve not done before. Followed a couple of ‘ easy ‘ core workout sessions on KZbin and hey presto!…. groin strain ! 🤦‍♂️so no running now for a few weeks. So much for my ‘good idea’ 😂 Hang in there Tim you’re not alone! I am glad to see it is slowly getting better. Personally if I had your recent injuries I would not be jumping right back into a marathon block even if the doctor said it was ok. Marathon blocks are taxing! Good luck.

I'll be doing things a little different this time around. I'm looking forward to returning to Chicago. My priority has shifted from PB to running healthy. Thank you for all of your support. Have a great day.

Hi Tim, when you get greenlight to start your Chicago marathon training, if you can incorporate a period of base building, gradually increasing duration and intensity. I am concerned that if you jump back to an aggressive plan you might re-injure yourself because your tissue capacity is starting from diminished state. Maybe you should choose a far less aggressive goal this time designed to get to the finish line injury free as opposed to have some PR or BQ goal in mind. Just play safe this time and there will be many more more marathons in your future to get faster. Just saying. Best wishes!

So I found your channel looking for insight on the Garmin training from the Connect app. I was wondering if it helped you get a BQ? Are you going to use it for Chicago?

Welcome to the Run Tall family! I'm so glad you are here. Yes I do plan to use it again. I've had great success with the Garmin training programs. I've used them for all 5 marathons that I've run and was able to run Boston qualifier times 4 of the 5 marathons. Have a great weekend! Stay safe.

Have you addressed ways to avoid this type of injury in the future? Do we need to mostly increase recovery time, and avoid over training by monitoring resting pulse rate?

Prolly shouldn't have worked through the other hip injury. When you were getting ready for Chicago and had pain you most likely stressed the other side to make up for the bursitis hip which stressed the current. Moral of the story... listen to your body. It's taking to you.

That's some good insight. I hadn't thought about that. It's very possible. Thanks for all of your support. Have a great day.
