New to fighting games, TrueTalent's Injustice 2 videos convinced me to buy a PS4 and start learning but it's your videos that have really helped a lot in learning how to actually play. My biggest hurdle (still trying to overcome it but it's not as bad) so far is dealing with constant enemy attacks and never seeming to get my own to land. Your first basic frame data tutorial helped a lot in dealing with this and while I still have a very hard time against hard AI with my "main", Supergirl, I'm usually able to interrupt their constant aggression now thanks to this. Thank you for taking the time to help those of us who are completely new to fighting games in general.

I think in this video you should should have used deathshot as an example to show case frame data - look for a player named Young Chicuelo from Latin America and see how he use deadshot. He combines deadshots - overhead low mixups to keep constant pressure on his opponent, because of how well deadshots frame data compliment eachother... deadshot is not just a lame zoner lol Anyway good video shujinkydink - always liked your MMH...

One thing i would like you to do is go in depth on frame data that changes for the characters as the patches start rolling out. Sometimes the patch notes confuse me and i never really get a great understanding of whats changed frame data wise with my characters.

Me again Dink (from the first tutorial)... :) If the opponent does not block Silver Age (1, 1), I guess the Cancal adv is not being subtracted from the Block adv right? Giving me 17 frames to cancel with a start-up move of 16 or less?
@shujinkydink
@shujinkydink 7 жыл бұрын
yeah if they get hit by it then you would add that to your cancel frames, meaning there would be no chance of a gap there

Do you subtract the block advantage whether or not its plus or negative? If back 12 had been + eleven on block wouldnt you add it to the cancel?
@phdinfootsies2107

I really dont understand cancel frames by themselves. I thought it was the window you had to input the special move after a combo as in if my cancel is 21 frames and I input a 15 frame startup move at the first possible cancel frame, the special move wwould come out 15 frames after the combo ends so as soon as possible. I really dont understaand why we subtract block aadvantage

I can't put these to a practical use. Everytime I try to use a move of my own after blocking and opponent combo my opponent attacks first as if there negative frames didn't matter. Even when I use D1. It shouldn't be lag cause I'd be able to tell if it is. Some even do follow up attacks faster than my D1 when they have a -12 or even worse on block. It's driving me nuts

So are Recovery Frames exactly like Block Advantage Frames? or are they completely different from each other. For instance: there is a move that is plus on block let's say plus 5 but the recovery frames are like 44 does that mean you won't get a free follow up because you take so long to recover or do Block Advantage Frames and Recovery Frames work with each other?
@chyldechylde9728
@chyldechylde9728 7 жыл бұрын
italiavirgo block adv is when an attack is blocked recover frames is when an attack is whiffed/misses

Hey Dink, wanted to ask how Block Frames and Recovery Frames work together? Do the recovery frames start after the startup frames? And if you get blocked are you actually -11 or -26? Thanks in advance.
@shujinkydink
@shujinkydink 7 жыл бұрын
So recovery frames only become active if the move is not blocked. So if its blocked, it will be -11. If the move misses it is -26.

So what's a number that you can begin to say a move is safe. For block advantage if the number is under negative blank it will be safe. What number will that be? You said anything under 20 for recovery is good. What about for block advantage. Because I see negatives and positives and idk which is good or bad lol

A positive block advantage means if they block you have the advantage. for example a move that is plus 8 on block means if you do the move and they block it you can do another attack that is faster then 8 frames like a down 1. and if they try to attack through it you will have priority and their attack will not go through. Watch his first video on frame data for a better explanation.

How do you know what combo strings to put together
@bryanE26
@bryanE26 7 жыл бұрын
so how would wonder women having gaps in all her strings (except f23) effect her block strings if they can just back dash out?
@AntDknator
@AntDknator 7 жыл бұрын
Frost Edge - TV for Wonder Woman, you have to know when to pressure and keep your opponent guessing . If you keep doing like 22 3 and the opponent knows ww we'll, then they would back dash or d1 you hard. However you can mix it up and use her bash attack Mb and they would get hit if they back dash. Then you can keep the pressure with 223 string and do sort of plus frame combos. Wonder Woman is mix up pressure character with good spacing tools. I suggest watching his Wonder Woman pressure videos.

KingDinghHD But, what he said is really the answer. You can't really do much just block when there doing their strings and try and poke around with a down 1 and see if it lands, and when an attack is unsafe sometimes you can just tell. But if you're really having trouble against a certain character you really just gotta learn the match up.
@sdjgfujds
@sdjgfujds 7 жыл бұрын
luigiisthewinner I understand but I'm speaking as if you don't know the match up.
@luigiisthewinner
@luigiisthewinner 7 жыл бұрын
KingDinghHD Yeah, you basically just have to kinda guess. Defense will be your best tool. Block their combo strings and attacks and when their finished poke at them with a down 1 and to see if it's at least not plus on block. Then go for a better punish and use safe moves or plus moves, but you're really just winging it. You can sometimes just tell when a move is unsafe too.

Actually, mathematically speaking you add cancel frames and block frames, so 21+(-11)=10. Cuz if you deduct, it will be 21-(-11)=36. Nerd...

hey dink I have been playing nrs games for a while now and id like to think I know a little about frame data. however I main cat woman and her standing 1 toward 2 is apparently plus 2 but I have a hard time jailing my down 1 after. now if I do sanding 3 after instead which is a 10 start up, it would become a 8 frame off the plus 2 but somehow Batman can hit me with his 9 frame low. broken frames? ps sorry for the essay.
@hamedpakatchi4196
@hamedpakatchi4196 7 жыл бұрын
I just checked your theory for Catwoman vs Catwoman. S1F2 jail into D1 seems to be truly an effectively 5frame move since her fastest move, S1 (6frames), does not punish it. However, I think you're right, after many tries. Unless my execution is one frame (hopefully not two) slow, seemingly a 9 frame move (both D2 & DF3) gets you out of S1F2 jail into D1.
