Injustice 2: Bane combo guide. Beginner/advanced. Damage up to 1141. He likes to hug you!

Bane is my third character to lab for combos and so far, with no surprise, he takes the highest damage of 114%. What is surprise is his level of execution needed for super high damage, but you don't really need it, because meterless easy 6-7 hit combos will do around 70% anyway.
Great mixups, 50/50, tick throws and free damage. Super good dash - forward and back. Oh, and 10f low hitting full screen SUPER. Oh, yes!

you should practice vs a character with 1000 defense. like superman. darkseid has the lowest defense in the game iirc. So therfor combos do "more" damage. there is an unwritten rule, that we use superman as test dummy for combos, at least in testyourmight forums and reddit. anyway, good video tho.

:D Yes I know what they write tym fourm. In competitive mode, the % is always the same. If Darkseid has 1400 health and lowest defense, his combos have bigger number, but % is same for all characters. For example, the max combo Bane does here 1141 against Darkseid, then this is 81,5%. That combo will do 81,5% against every character in the game, just the damage number is different. Against Batman and Superman that number is smaller, but still, they will lose the same amount of health bar. Instead of going this "hard-to-do-math" way I will just use Tekken logic - damage is %. Darkseid just has 140% health, others have less and combos do different amount of %. It doesn't really matter anyway, until all the combos are done on the same character. I always use pre-order characters as dummies and I never change not I can now, because then the combos would be messed up in damage. I will now use Darkseid until the end so you can compare characters and their damage output.

Point short - I do combos against the same char, this way you know always the damage output of a char. I am uploading a Green Arrow video now and if you see in the title, that the damage is up to 925, then you know his damage potential compared to other videos I have done. If I always changed, it would be a mess.

HobbyGamer Gameplay no that's not true, competitive mode doesn't make damage equal for all characters. It's much better to just use super man as a test dummy. Even in competitive mode not all characters have the same health. It takes like 13 bullets to kill dark side with deadshot where as it takes around 16 to kill superman. That's a bit of a difference

Explain this then - all 1050 health characters take exactly the same damage, no matter what their defense is. Same applies to all 1250 health chars. No matter the defense. In the moves list, when a move does 9 damage, then it does 126 on Darkseid, 112,5 on a character that has 1250 health and 94,5 on 1050 health. That is because that move is 9%. There are more things, that are a factor, like scaling algoritm, that makes special moves, that do a lot of hits, do more damage on lower health characters. This is why superman takes more damage (%) on many occasions, but the same thing applies the other way around. Superman will scale less against high health chars. This is the way the NRS balanced the system. The difference in damage can be measured on some situations and stays in between 2,5% of health difference. Hence the reason why Red Hood for example does a little more against Superman (takes more as well) and does a little less against Darkseid (% wise, not the numbers). Since the difference is so little and Darkseid will get the biggest numbers, but in facts always get the least % of damage (in the 2,5% margin), he is the one to use to. If you can do a combo, that almost kills Dakrseid, it will kill all the rest of the cast. I have shown calculations of this before and since you are actually able to calculate combo damage before doing it, means it is working.

HobbyGamer Gameplay I just play casually Injustice 2, but if what you say is true, about the percentages, then I think you should consider putting the videos in percentage form "up to x%" because the numbers really don't mean much if it's different for every character, and I think it would be better to use a metric, the percentage, that is the same throughout all characters. Just a thought

Video is great but there are too many combos, in real life we just need to use 5-10. And 90% of time do less damage but finish with bane bomb to setup. Anyway it's a good tutorial, people just need a second one with setups and do not forget people about footsies and whiff punishes. I play cheetah and bane, yeah bane super is great and has a good animation, cheetah's one suck too much. And finaly someone makes video against lvl20 in tournament mode, because there are too many noobs that make combo videos on lvl 1(

Depends on your opponent..if they keep you at full screen then you're going to have problems but if you get on the inside just once you can run them over especially if you use your venom right

If this is really competitive mode, there must be some sort of difference in character defenses as the same combos on Superman, for example, do different amounts of damage. EDIT: Oh yeah, duh, there's a defense stat. Must be that it's not normalized in competitive even.

Darkseid has the least amount, but most life. Batman has the most defence, but less life. They normalize it by making life and damage match. Damage number is different, but % is same.

This is all because of the gear. They need micro transactions in the game, so this is how they came up with it. At least you have competitive mode.

Calculate percent by max health, minus the damage, take that number and divide it by max health.

Yeah, % is same for everybody, so the 1141 damage combo is 81,5% for every single character in the game. Instead of that I just use the number as %. Darkseid has 140% of health and combo does 114% damage.

Why won't bane bomb ever work for me? Doesn't matter if I'm on PS4 or xbone, everytime I do try and do it I just do a low heavy attack. What am I doing wrong?

Abaddon Really late but if you still have a problem try using the d-pad or in the control settings turn off the do specials on release of the button

And i do agree is very stupid how fast you have to input the Bane bomb/RKO/Backbreaker i really wish some moves you could change the commands to be able to pull them off better

Those are tick throws. The slam is down, back, forward+1 (square or A). Other one is a special string. All the hits I showed connect throws from block.

I am a total fighting game noob but when I try to hit square into the dbf+x throw i get the first square hit and then the air grab (db+square) comes out instead of the command throw. Is my timing wrong? Or is there some kind of fuzzy input? Confused how I get db+square when I hit square,d,b
