One of the things I love about Ed Boon is that he loves and respects the characters he's a fan of. When you see the MK characters, DC characters, Guest Characters, and when he talks about Marvel and even Street Fighter, he gushes about them, and with his team knows there stuff. So when you see their takes on there characters, he takes from the films/TV (why certain characters are in the game), cartoons (The voice cast), other games (Other prominent character choices and voice actors), and deep comic cuts (Characters personality and actions).

I really like how Brainiac was the main villain of this game as he's one of my favourite Superman villains. I know many compare him to Ultron but the big difference between them is Ultron was man-made on Earth, whereas Brainiac is an alien supercomputer intelligence, acting as a dark reflection of the thirst for knowledge just without humanity and compassion. One thing I love about Brainiac is his insatiable need for knowledge and how he shrinks down cities and even planets to collect them in his ship and study their information and knowledge, some continuities he's reimagined as a Kryptonian AI that actually caused Krypton's destruction. His connection to Krypton and Superman makes him a very personal villain to Superman, especially when threatening the shrunken lives of Kryptonians in the Brainiacs collection.

I greatly prefer his origin as a Kryptonian AI as depicted in Superman: The Animated Series as it gives further personal connection for Superman or Supergirl as Brainiac shares the last remanence of knowledge about Krypton and often uses it as a bargaining means for Superman. Brainiac, for me, is best written when he doesn't want to rule the world but simply follows a misguided twisted sense of his programming, to store all the knowledge of the universe, collect the best, and discard the rest

The whole thing with Dr. Fate is he took Black canary from the Injustice Earth and put her on one where Green Arrow lost his Canary. That's why this Green Arrow said last part that he was the 'new guy'. It's why Dr. Fate showed up. He wanted to take them back to this Green Arrow's Earth before Brainiac showed up.

I’ve been tolerating it up to this point but yes it’s getting annoying. It’s possible for DC to have multiple adaptations that remain separate from each other. (Yes the costumes from the DCEU were added later as DLC but that doesn’t mean that the characters themselves were designed to relate to those movies.)

Flash in the first game was voiced by Neal McDonough who is primarily a live action actor, so he was probably too busy to come back for this game so they got a new actor (Taliesin Jaffe who also voiced Flash in MK vs DC) it has nothing to with Ezra Miller (or Grant Gustin for that matter) he just sounds a little younger.

Captain Cold is voiced by C. Thomas Howell. a prolific actir in the 80's (mainly known for playing "Ponyboy" in "The Ousiders") DC fans will likely be more familiar with him voicing Professor Zoom/Eobard Thawne in the DCAU

The DCAU (DC Animated Universe) is comprised of Batman The Animated Series, Batman Mask of the Phantasm, Batman and Mr. Freeze: SubZero, Superman The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Mystery of the Batwoman, Batman Beyond, Batman Beyond Return of the Joker, Static Shock, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. The continuity you're thinking of is the DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe).

So THIS version of Black Canary was married to Green Arrow but Superman killed him. After that Dinah tried to kill Superman but nearly got killed herself. Luckily Doctor Fate managed to fake her death and transported her to an alternate universe where SHE had died but Oliver and their son survived. She lived there throughout the events of the first game which is why she wasn’t with the Insurgency. After the fall of Superman and his Regime Dinah brought Oliver and their son back to this universe. Also Black Canary NEEDS to be adapted properly in the new DC Universe. Not only is she one of the greatest pound for pound fighters in all of DC (she is actually on Batman’s level) but she’s also a motorcycle riding rockstar by day and a superhero at night. I just wish that whoever made this video showed Black Canary’s cutscenes when she fights as well.

In remarks to the age of Flash. The reason why Barry looks younger here is purely because of the older graphics design in the earlier game. Timeline wise, Barry should still be in his early thirties I think.

i think Barry is at least in his mid-late thirties maybe even early 40’s cause by the time the events of the first injustice game happens, i think it would make sense if the Justice League were already around for a decade or close to a decade before Joker nukes Metropolis and then the 5 years the first comics take place which leads straight into Injustice 1 and then IJ2 says it’s been years since Superman and Regime has been defeated so visually they all do look a little bit younger than they should be realistically but it’s not that bad. Barry looks 5 years younger than he should be, same with everyone else sorta

I’m pretty sure they weren’t trying to copy the looks of the DCEU actors. Or inspiration from the movies for the story. Not making them look younger, just different and better designs. They’re completely they’re own and not trying to look like the movies even if they look younger or have better faces. Netherrealm (the company of the game) does this with all their fighting games. From mk9-mk1, & injustice-injustice 2, face designs are always changed. The one that is from the movies though is Harley, pointing out her hair mostly. But every Harley looks like that now

27:18 Not exactly. The Injustice games are pretty mucu like the comics. However, some of the different skins and costumes are based off of the movies. From what I remember, Green Arrow had a skin that was similar to the Green Arrow from the show.

All of these characters elements are from the comics or even altered from the comics. There is no inspiration from the movies (maybe aside from Scarecrow just having a mask). The only thing they relied on involving movies and TV shows was who was in one and got more well-known hence the likes Captain Cold, Deadshot and another character you will see.
