Kevin Conroy has been and always will be My Batman! *Rest In Peace* As for the game story, it is truly one of the greatest and most profound stories in the entire comic book genre! DC Comics told Netherealm Studios that they had free reign to make their own original story and my god did it pay off. The idea of how our greatest heroes can fall and become villains, while also still being heroes in the eyes of some people (in particular those who believe in imperialism). And the comics that cover the 5 years in between the Lois Lane’s death and when the heroes from the PRIME universe are some of the best written stories in all of comics. Because like Game Of Thrones, NO ONE is safe!

(Like when Joker tried to attack central city only to realize that he is back in gotham before he can blink. Or how Superman humiliates him in main canon. Even if I ignore how out of character everyone is, example Luthor who would kill Joker and every villain in Gotham before he would let someone bomb metropolis. The debate about not killing terrorists is completely asinine. Joker had killed Millions. Batman wouldn't even be allowed in the same room. He wouldn't live 10 minutes after that incident much less be allowed back into Gotham. Like seriously do you think the public or USA will just let this slide ? They would hang Joker and Harley and then hang Batman from aiding Joker all those years. And the brings me Harley. Directly involved in killing millions, her punishment ? A joke session with Green Arrow. Also the argument of "She was just manipulated by Joker" is bs. Joker is dead but she still kills Arkham guards and causes a Riot. Batman is the true villain of Injustice.

Small word of advice to Jaby, if most of your existing knowledge of some of those characters is from the movies I really recommend forgetting about that because these games are more based on the comics whereas the movies take massive deviations from the source material. The stories of the Injustice games are mostly for fans with pre-existing knowledge of DC comics and assumes that you are already familiar with them.

What I love about Injustice is that if you are a fan of both Superman and Batman and so used to them being friends you feel divided since you can understand Batman's point of view and you can understand Superman's point of view at the same time. I hope you guys enjoy this and the sequel and I hope they will do an Injustice 3 if they can think of the right story of course but I understand that they are concentrating on Mortal Kombat 1 at the moment.

I would love for them to make an injustice 3. I've always wanted to see the story be some version of Blackest Night. Have all the dead that Superman and his regime are responsible for come back to life as black lanterns kind of like the Revenants in the Mortal Kombat series. Have black lantern skins for returning characters like Shazam and Beast Boy. And for cutscene purposes you can have black lantern Lois Lane haunt Superman to show him the error of his ways and make that his redemption arc.

@@HygorBH I don't hate Superman because we got to see in between the 5 years where he killed Joker and the first Injustice game. He didn't come out swinging as a dictator, but tried to do things the 'normal' hero way, and came to butt heads with Batman on the philosophy of killing. I think it was after Dick's death that things started going downhill faster. Now Diana, I really didn't like her. Felt like from the way she was written, she was just waiting for a moment like this to happen so that she could worm her way into Clark's life and become the ultimate power couple of the universe. Her and Sinestro were the ones in Supe's ear the whole time nudging him down this path.

In terms of the timelines, I believe it was mentioned passively that the alternate timeline with the evil Superman is 5 years after the events of the explosion. Which means when they jumped timelines, they also jumped 5 years into the future (of that timeline). When they fight themselves, they're fighting their counterparts that are 5 years older/younger than them, depending on the perspective.

the librarian dude from atlantis said that the nuke went off 5yrs ago, so we can assume that it's 5yrs into the future, but now as i think about it, we do not know are the events in both dimensions on the same "timeline", are the normal dimension's nuke and injustice's nuke suppose to kaboom the same moment?, or the injustice one blew 5yrs before normal? so they might by same age in both universes... i don't remember if the comics or the game(s) dwell on this any more...

Except to our knowledge there were 2 more differences, than just the 5 year difference. Firstly Joker chose to put the trigger of the nuke inside Lois Lane, instead of just holding onto it himself. And secondly the fact that Lex Luthor never became a villain. So it is an alternate timeline, not just what would've happened 5 years in the future if the nuke was triggered.

Injustice has a series of comics that each book takes place in the 5 years and covers most of the characters development as how they ended up to this point where the world is run by Superman’s Regime and the overall world building as to how things ended up where we are.

The Night Gwen Stacy Died was a landmark in comic history since it dealt with drugs and the death of a loved one by the hero. The comic ended the Silver Age and began the Bronze Age of comics.

In this alternate timeline where the bomb does go off, it went off 5 years ago.. however both universes are happening at the same time. They are all the same age, only events happened in a different order. I would say a pre existing knowledge and understanding of the characters outside the films may be helpful. As for the quips after the end of every fight, I think they were added in so the gamers can take a breather after playing the fight, and potentially losing over and over. Injustice & Injustice 2 are the only 2 video games I’ve played in the last decade and basically the original reason I even have a game console. I wish the play through you found wasn’t done on easy mode so you could see the characters build up to a “supermove”! Most are awesome, but Batman and Joker’s are the best. 11:43 of you like Batman’s voice I’ve got some news. Kevin Conroy voiced Bats for 30 years in various cartoons, movies and video games. Sadly, we lost him to cancer last year. I got genuinely emotional. His is THE voice of Batman for me. I hear his Bruce Wayne and Batman whenever I’m reading the character’s dialogue. Only two other celebrity passings made me feel as sad. If you’ve gone and watched this much, maybe you should check out the cutscenes for Arkham Asylum. It’s pretty good. Another idea like that is either playing or watching some of the Telltale Games like their Batman games, Jurassic Park, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, or Guardians of the Galaxy. Telltale Games is like having interactive cutscenes. There’s a couple games like it from different studios like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. Watching someone play a telltale games game can either be entertaining or boring. For telltale Guardians of the Galaxy I would recommend watching Zackscottgames playthrough. It’s weird and wacky and full of pep… but he actually makes a lot of good decisions in pathing in that one. Anyway it’s an idea and it could be another thing to do. Hope you look into it and give something or all of this a try. I think it could work for the both of you and as far as gaming goes, it an easy way of playing something you and Achara could get into for this channel.

To answer Ichara's question, there's 3 I can think of( one is kind of referenced by Zac Snyder with the knightmare future) aside from the ones you mentioned. 1 is the earth X timeline where the Nazis won World War II. Thereby making most Heroes such as Green Arrow The Flash Supergirl into nazis( Superman and Supergirl in this world are known as Overman and Overgirl). The next one is one where instead of landing on Earth Superman was instead nabbed by Darksied thereby making him a hearld like Granny Goodness. And the final one is the criminal Syndicate Universe where heroes are villains and villains are heroes this is the one where instead of being found by the Kents Superman instead found by somebody like Lionel Luthor(in some versions) in this version of the timeline Superman is a criminal mastermind known as Ultraman Wonder Woman is known as Superwoman and Batman is known as owl man. Each of these instances Superman was not raised by a kind pair of farmers but instead raised in circumstances to make him into a lunatic dictator. What's unique about Injustice is Superman was a paragon of virtue up until he was mind tricked into killing Lois and his unborn son.

Interesting, I felt like there was a lot of development in just 30 minutes. As soon as everybody gets warped, it establishes that there’s a mystery. Where, and or when are we? They split up to investigate and rather quickly put the pieces together that it’s an alternate Earth that’s being run as an autocratic dictatorship by Superman and his cronies that include a bunch of heroes and villains, most of which have been coerced into supporting him. He’s managed to cut down conflict by enforcing very violently his idea of a peaceful society. We also learn that there’s a group of insurgents lead by Batman who was the one responsible for bringing our heroes over cause he needs their DNA to access a weapon he can use against Superman.

The Kingdom Come Superman is the best Superman he went through a similar thing as the Injustice Superman where he lost everything, Joker released Joker Gas on the Daily Planet killing everyone and Lois finding a Gas mask in time didn't die, until she tried ambushing Joker and god her skull smashed in from a Crowbar. So he lost everything as well but stuck to being himself, as another more merciless Hero took over killing the Joker and the world support him. Superman takes to retiring. Until he needs to return for the new heroes couldn't handle the new danger.

The years are the same, it's just a different earth. Luthor said that the Joker nuke that destroyed Metropolis 5 years ago. So the nuke in the good universe was just a coincidence. To learn more about it, there's a comic book series that covers before the nuke goes off and up to Superman's complete rule of Earth.

On one of the last points made, it's kind of a strange perspective to take but I can understand it from a movie watchers pov, but most comic stories don't begin with backstories, they assume everything from the current continuity and/or change a few things.
