several years ago I quit drinking and got way into biking on the dirt trails through nature which evolved into pushing myself to go on 60 miles rides and survive in the woods....pushing to remain disciplined and push push push. The physical pushing to pedal burnt itself into my brain as a mental exercise to keep pushing with my art, my mind, and my life. Thinking back on all the things I've seen and done, and continuing to push to see new horizons and create new drawings remains a healthy habit.

I really love the watercolor/drawing. It's beautiful and I want it on my wall. If your trouble with veg is taste (or prep), an easy thing to do is to buy frozen spinach or kale and add it straight to smoothies (easy one's milk, yogurt, banana, cocoa powder, ice, honey if you need it sweet) or something you're already eating where it'll blend with the other stuff a bit (like lasagna or scrambled eggs). At least in my house, getting enough leafy greens is the biggest challenge and this makes it a lot easier.

I'm into inks and I'm into watercolors. So, your ink and watercolor stuff floats my boat. I also dig your stream-of-consciousness commentary whether it's about art or vegetables. 👍

I had just returned from an afternoon in the park watching ducks and their babies, walking by Canada Geese and their offspring and watching them nibble the grass, staring at the light refracting through the water and grasses, and the light coming through the tree branches and leaves. I saw several robins, a chaffinch, crows and magpies, swans and a moorhen. I observed mayflies and damsel flies hovering and diving around the lily pads. So much inspiration amongst the fragrances of the pines, oaks, rhododendrons, azaleas and cut grass. And then i watched your version of almost the same experiences in the US. I love the colours you chose for your painting, very vibrant and relaxing. Much like a walk in the park. I hope your hand heals quickly. Much love and respect xx❤

The colours in this are great, and I always love your nature excursions. A nice approach a dietician gave me once was to just add more vegetables to a couple of meals a week. That's all. Then over time I figured out what worked for me and could add more, more often. But it's OK to be up and down with it, have weeks that are more intentional others and be self-compassionate about that. Some comfort food now and then I think is OK. A lot of life is tough so enjoying the things that bring us some comfort is not a bad thing. Long term balance is what counts most. Self kindness is first and foremost. 🥰

Beautiful watercolor! This one turned out really nice. For me to not eat junk food, I have to just not have any in the house. I have such a terrible sweet tooth, and when it acts up I eat either apples or dark chocolate. If there's anything else in the cupboards I have no self control and I'll eat it... so I try my best to not buy it at all.

This one turned out magical! I think having the color shapes in place gives you permission to leave some spaces blank, and it really opens things up and everything just looks really harmonious. Great work. I'm glad you aren't giving up on you and we'll try not to give up on us. Thanks for everything you do, putting yourself out there.

I love the art but keep returning for the soothing thought journals. I agree with your point about films in particular - it's all cut to this plot point, now this, and within a couple of hours everything is solved. All the boring parts are removed, which is a good thing but you have to remember life isn't like that. You don't see the main character waking up every day and eating breakfast for 5 minutes, taking 10 minutes getting ready in the bathroom etc (unless it's a sped up montage that serves the plot.)

The place in the opening looks like a great place to relax, unwind, and get into a peaceful state of mind. I think the music you picked also enhanced that feeling. I think your painting with the watercolors was a reflection on that peaceful feeling, and a wonderful painting it turned out to be!!

A book that really helped me is Power Plates by Gena Hamshaw. I picked it up randomly off the shelf of my library and it forever changed my understanding of preparing delicious and easy plant-based meals. I also like to chop up some lettuce, cucumber, and bell pepper, keep it in the fridge in a large container, and add it to tacos or other meals so I don't even have to think about it when meal time comes. Even if the tacos are super unhealthy at least you're adding something fresh to it. And if you want a simple taco filling I love adding black beans and cous cous neither of which require cooking time and are much healthier than processed stuff. Oh and instead of cheese, throw a handful of cashews and a generous drizzle of olive oil with some salt and pepper... Okay I'm getting carried away haha. Hope this helps you or anyone else!

Peter, I'm David from South Eastern Idaho. This video you did inspires me, I I draw, paint, and many, many other mediums, both traditional and digital as well. My subjects are very thing from Futuristic Space Art, Anime Art, to Fashion Design, Abstract Art. I'm trying to learn some Sewing, Doll/Robot making, Photography, Doll Photography, Writing Poems and Stories, and Electronic Music. Really I got a lot going. Why this video inspires is to try even more things, those vistas you showed at the beginning of video. Just doing nature things by its self. Thank You. - PS don't get depressed it's easy to do sometimes I'm going through like lots of health issues snd mobility issues as well as the passing away with my mother in December and my sister also not being very nice right now it is a little overwhelming I admit, but you don't give up! I promise I won't either. One of the things that's keeping me going is knowing that I'm moving to Seattle, Washington and some future date to go to Art school. I believe great things are coming for me. I'm L.D.S. I want to tell you that God loves you, so don't get discouraged or depressed it will get better!

i have not watched you draw for a long time.My eyes were getting really bad and struggled with seeing.fixed it though now with research and several tests.I am amazed at the difference in your work. Its not as tense as it used to be and you have space too.I love this illustration ,its beautiful. The colours are perfect and you may only just be playing with watercolour but you are a natural.I am not too bothered with food but do get down days a lot to,some need munchies. No not a fan on a stick of lettuce or a stick of carrot..But as i am well old enough to be your Mum i am not so keen on my chocolate as much so have bits of and have found Rice cakes with the thinnest layer of chocolate. So they give the sweetness and not so heavy in the calories as a bar of chocolate. So they are my new go too.Its hard when you have bad days,i have been like this for over fifty years..I always found drawing was my release ,but now bad wrists ,eyes off some days in the morning ..Well it's called old age ,i just cant seem to pick the pencil or pen up anymore.Still have the ideas though.Glad your still drawing. Are you still at Uni or have you finished? ..Love n Light 🥰

The order used of pencil, water, applied color and ink last worked really well. Looks good and think I might get my toes wet. As I look at your completed work, I don't see much influence from the inspiration of nature, but if there was, then it would no longer be you and the mechanical, techno, futuristic style that pours out so naturally.

Searched the bird at 2:27 using Google Lens, which defined it as a Red Cardinal. I had read about another bird recently, Euplectes hordeaceus (of which the Dutch name translates to Flame Weaver), and the red color and black face of the bird in the video triggered in me that it might be this same bird. But on further investigation I was desillusioned, Euplectes hordeaceus has a black belly and lives in southern Africa.

Amazing... you used water colours but still kept it your style. I was expecting some sort of common green swamp scene. I don't think the camera did that one justice.. have to see one of these in real life. I suppose you could also use watered down inks? But more choices of colour in watercolour paints? By the way my coping mechanism is food but it's also just talking to friends. We sit around eating a cheese plater with carrot sticks and celery and crackers and dips, and coffee or wine or both. We try to make it a weekly event. You very welcome to join us if you ever visit Australia lol.
