So helpful! Thank you! I was trying to learn how to vectorize with the darn pen tool by laying out anchoring points and dear lord it felt so unatural and would give me literal headaches lol. Being a studio artist that has never worked digitally, this tutorial is sooo goood and straight to it! Thank you!!!!!

If you only notice after drawing a bunch that the paths are all disconnected, how do you go about joining them into a group? I found it super fiddly to do!

Me to… I have not had the need to clean it up after the fact myself, but let me see if I can find a good way - I’ll return with an answer if I find a good one :-)

If you select the strokes you want to combine, you can press the ‘Combine Shapes’ icon in the menu to the right, and select ‘combine all’. That will merge the strokes into one shape 😊

Very helpful.thank you… I was wondering what is the paper overlay you use for your colours? Where could I find?

It came with the brush pack I mention in the video about color: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmGugZmrh6qpj7s It has a ton of additional paper textures. I can warmly recommend buying this pack: tsvetka.artstation.com/store/0gKp/procreate-watercolor-brushes-paper-textures

Have you tried Affinity Designer? Just wondering how it stacks up as a vector app on the iPad for the type of work you do here
@authorsandillustrators Жыл бұрын
I have indeed - was actually thinking of creating a video of the main difference. I actually bought the Affinity Designer, since it handles both vector and raster in one, and has a ton of features. But when I tried out their brushes for vector it turned out, that the strokes was not real vector, but pixel based maps in a very large scale. When zooming in, it looked like blurry pixels. It does not have the blob brush, as Illustrator does. Very sad, since it is a cool and more affordable tool. If they get a blob brush one day, I might try it out again :-)

Whats app you used to record the screen? I need show the finger toch

I actually used the iPad OS build in screen capture. The trick is to enable a custom AssistiveTouch shortcut. You can follow this step by step guide: support.screencast-o-matic.com/portal/en/kb/articles/show-finger-taps-when-recording-your-screen-on-ios

Hello)) I have a question. When you are contributing ai file from ipad to another device - do the lines and brushes are still looking like path or they are coverted into shapes? Because I`ve tried to draw on free vector program and it converted all lines in shapes during contribution. Thank you)))

Adobe have a cloud solution - so anything I do in Illustrator on the iPad is also available on my Mac in Illustrator. When using the tools I do here, it is always in shapes. I personally like it that way :-)
