Hi everyone! It has really been a while! I'm so excited to be back over here and sharing this video with you about my latest obsession....fountain pens! I recently purchased the TWSBI ECO Rose Gold fountain pen. I am inking it up for the first time and filling it with some beautiful ink by Pelikan! A bit of a spontaneous upload! More to come. I hope you enjoy it!

It’s so funny to watch this now knowing how deep down the rabbit hole you went, possibly to China! And how many pens you have now and how many inks. Lots of fun I googled this for this ink!

Thinking the same thing! I laughed out loud when she said she prefers writing with black ink and 3 pens for her trip is good

Make sure to stick the pen far enough down inside the bottle of ink. You want the whole nib to be submerged, because there is a little breather hole at the base of the nib which is where the ink will be sucked up. You’ll be able to get a better fill that way.

Just ordered the TWSBI ECO CREME & ROSE GOLD FOUNTAIN PEN with the broad nib (I like a really inky write to my pens) and I’m super excited. My first fountain pen. I’ve wanted one for like 15 years and finally pulled the trigger. Also purchased a NAKABAYASHI YU-SARI NOTEBOOKS sorry about the caps lock in copy and pasting lol.

Enjoyed watching a new fountain pen user as someone 7 years in the hobby! The nib (as you were drying it) will never fully stop getting ink on the napkin/tissue the way you were doing it; thats why it didnt write right away, it dried all the ink in the feed. The "best" (subjective) way to do it is just get most ink off the grip section & some off the nib, but not as thoroughly as you were, that way the ink stays in the feed & writes right away. The ink you "lost" drying it is miniscule though compared to the bottle amount. Also, Noodlers inks are generally best price per milliliter ($14/90ml=15cent/ml) if youre looking to save money, theyre generally slow drying, but SO MANY color/permanence options! Hope i didnt repeat myself too much or over-explain ("mansplain", lol), just trying to help. God bless you, enjoy your pens Tata!

Hello ....I'm the one who feel grateful for your wonderful videos. I'm new to fountain pens so far I have kaweco, Jinhao, preppy, kakuno. On my birthday I decided to give myself a special pen....I bought Sailor Gear manyo-Cherry blossom and I fell in love with it. Thank you for providing us great information about fountain pens.

So fun to watch this as a recent subscriber. I had just watched one of your latest (or THE latest) inked video and it’s funny to hear that you used to not be a very colorful ink person. I’m very new (literally days old) to this hobby, so looking forward to falling down this rabbit hole.

The ink does go really well with the Rose Gold TWSBI. Can't wait to follow along with your journey. I just recently got into fountain pens and have been down a rabbit hole.

Honestly, hearing you say you dont want to go crazy with inks is such a newbie thing. I really have to hold myself not to buy more and look at you have million shades of brown and so many inks. Honestly, we have all come so far.

Hi Tati, thank you for sharing this video. This is helping me decide on whether or not I want a fine or medium nib in the new TWSBI ECO CAFE W/BRONZE and I've been eyeing the Brilliant Brown for the Eco Creme! I don't really care for orange but I'm really liking your Lamy with the black clip for contrast. Also, what color Moterm cover is that? I love the color!!!

you hold your pen in the nitch of your thumb. I hold mine at the end of my first finger and my thumb. It's funny to see how people hold their pens. I wouldn't be able to see where I was writing if I held my pen like that. Interesting! I need a fountain pen. Thanks.

One thing I always do when filling from an ink bottle is to wipe the ink from the top of the opening. It minimizes the amount of ink you'll get on your hands. Also, I set the bottle on an absorbent paper towel, and have another paper towel or cloth handy to clean the pen after filling it.

Hi I love your videos. I’m really thinking a getting my very first fountain pen but I’m scared. The planners I have are from cloth and paper and Eric Condren. Would you happen to know if these types of pen are good for those types of pap…. Thank you so much

Hi Carmen. I have used my pens on Cloth & Paper inserts and they work well! I'm not sure about Erin Condren. Thanks so much for watching. Don't be afraid of fountain pens! I can't imagine using anything else now. xo

New subbie and fellow fountain pen newbie! So funny, I also got those same pens as my first pens, as well as the same exact ink! First pen was a pink Lamy Safari with a fine nib, next a Kaweco Sport in Frosted Blueberry in fine, and then the exact same TWSBI in medium. I love them all but they are all so so different!! I actually inked my Kaweco with that Pelikan ink and did not like it at all, for some reason it comes out really orangey with that pen. I have used that same ink with my glass dip pen and it shows a lot darker and more sepia-ish which is what I wanted. I think it looks great in your TWSBI too, I’ll have to try that in mine! Have you gotten any new pens since this video? 😊

Hello, don't jam the pens up together in the pen case, they will get scratched 😊

There is ALWAYS something to write down, although it may seem trivial at the time. I have been keeping a diary since 1995. Here's a note I made on Thur, 10.28.2021: "Warm sleep, but always on the verge of a chill. Dream Fragment: I'm working on a highly complex of projects creating equipment to perform unique and specific tasks for industrial applications. There are considerable technical problems to overcome. The workers toil long hours and sleep on-site. Cub (my cat) is on the bed when I wake, on my left, out of easy reach. X0640 (up for bathroom break). Warm sleep, no dreams remembered. This time when I wake, Cub is on my left, within reach, and accepts pets. X0855 (bathroom again). Cub comes in lies on her right side by my feet, exchanges slow-blinks with me." Another entry: Tue: "Tue 11.09.2021. Sunny, 54 degrees @ 0925. Out of bed 0700. Breakfast, surf TV: Richard Widemark film about frogmen blowing up Japanese ships within a harbor facility. Computer for news, email, KZbin. Email reply from Wancher regarding fountain pen options on the Aka Tamenura order. 1120 Call from Dave inviting me to lunch tomorrow to celebrate the US Marine Corps birthday, 256th. Call Allphases Dermatology to reschedule my appointment to Dec 3rd, 1130. Fleet Industrial Park to feed the birds; poor viewing: doves, female cardinal, 2 male cardinals--one of them bright red. Safeway for 2 submarine sandwiches & M&M peanuts. Home at 1815. PBS News, part of the movie "Lassie."" Those two examples, I spelled everything out. Here's how I usually write: "Mon 01.03.2022. 6+" of snow accumulatg. 20 degrees @ 1620. Up @ 0840. Breakfast, surf TV. Lectures on anti-terrorm, Show on arts/crafts, incl rug-makg, Clutch Cargo 'toon. Took pics of back yard snow accum. PC news, EM, 'tube. Zorba dance videos, Mark Felton vid: Himmler. Out to dig car out of snow. Got snow in my mocs; feet wet. Damaged car's muffler backg over snow pile left when street was plowed. No mail. Din and PBS News @ 1800. PC, contin to watch var vids; polit, cats &c.

Both Lamy and Twsbi have wider nibs. If you feel these are too fine do not get a pilot or pelikan extra fine or fine
@impish22 Жыл бұрын
Did you say what size nib this was? I might have missed it

You shook so hard that air bubbles were formed in the bottle that travelled in the pen too
