Hi, all my TWSBI Eco pens have shimmer ink in them, all of them in EF and a few with needlepoint grind.. The Robert Oster shimmer inks never worked in any of my TWSBI Eco pens, but the best shimmer ink I have found is the Shimmertastic ink by Diamine. The inkvent shimmery/chameleon inks are amazing in TWSBI pens, too. As well as Journalize inks.. Those two brands are mostly what I use in my TWSBI Eco pens. Also, shimmer inks work in Kaweco, too- at least based on my own experience. The Jayne Eyre ink is so gorgeous😍😍😍 I also love the new Irish Green Twsbi eco, I got a needlepoint grind on one and italic on another 😍 Anyway, I hope you give the Diamine shimmertastic inks a try for your TWSBI Eco pens, I would love to know how you will like the combo. ❤

“Now I’m all flustered”. Gave me a smile. However, when pens and inks misbehave it is annoying. Btw, these ink colors are impressive.

OMG - Withering Heights with hellebore florals on the cover? Yes please! I don't buy a lot of hard covers anymore - trying to clean out our bookcases - but man, such a pretty book! Okay, now on to see what you say about inks!!!!

My fav is the MontBlanc Jane Austen Ink. Its actually has a light “Amber” colour once it dries out.

I believe it's burping. I always get rid of the bubbles after inking a twisbi.

That is interesting to know... I just ordered the Smoke Diamond 580 in a medium nib. My daughter took my eco with her to Spain. I'm curious to see how it writes.

Van Diemans Encore Cupids Bow is super shimmery. I’ve had no problem Twsbi Medium nib. Usually fine nibs are good with shimmer inks, most (not all) XF nibs handle any shimmer inks. I’m team Twsbi.

Lovely TWSBI collection! The Irish Green is tempting me now. How do you typically clean your TWSBIs without disassembling them? I have taken a couple of mine apart and it hasn’t been a smooth process, but that is probably just me!

I’m leaning towards Jane Eyre because I don’t have a dusty purple, and it looks like a good color for Hobonichi October.

I'm so glad I picked up the MB Jane Austen ink; I really like this kind of purple-grey-brown color. The light purple Jane Eyre looks really pretty too!

When I first started, I prefered my Kaweco to TWSBIs, but as I am using them more, I really appreciate my TWSBIs. I always end up with ink on my fingers with my Kawecos, and they tend to burp ink when I start writing after a fill, as your Eco just did. I don't think I've ever had it happen with my TWSBIs, but I could be wrong...

I have Robert Oster Shake n Shimmy ink(Atlas exclusive Sidewalk Gum) in a TWsbi Broad nib and it works fine. I make sure to shake it frequently. Saw you on the Atlas experienced pen sale last week. You had as much luck as I did. Don’t think I’ll ever be fast enough to claim a pen. But I’m going to keep trying.

My new eco's o-ring on the end of the pen went missing after only one use. It is required to post the pen (otherwise the cap just spins around). The good news was that I emailed TWSBI and within 3 minutes I got a response. I sent them $6 via PayPal and within 5 minutes they emailed me back with a tracking number for two new o-rings. Not happy that it happened, but it was the best customer service ever. I am going to check the hardware store, now that I have the o-ring, and I'll pick up a few more.

as for the burping - did you shake up your inks? i notice sometimes maybe you do with the shimmerss o i wasnt sure if you were shaking the others. i could be wrong about this but i think its like nail polish where if you shake them up they can get air bubbles which might cause the burping, so its better to agitate them side to side gently. but yeah for shimmers you gotta be patient if youre being gentle...or wait for the air bubbles to dissipate before inking which i donno how long that would take. maybe if you slam the bottle against the table gently it would pop some air bubbles like a cake pan when you bake lol i dont actually know if that helps. thats my theory though on what could be happening !

love it! i like the jane austen best of the 3 but jane eyre beats them all :) to be honest im not a huge fan of any of the jane austen inks there but the jane eyre is a stand out

Any time you get a twsbi I put the piston down draw up ink and then push a few drops of ink back into the bottle and then turn it so it sucks whatevers in the feed inside the barrel so that way it doesnt bloop on the page... That always happens to me they dont have the find like the do under the feed like on most other feeds the space for bloopage is way bigger so it takes a little more care or I shake the pen over a paper towel or a sil mat and wipe it up or shake it over a trash area so it doesnt get all over everything :) Hope that helps take care :)
@lynnhayes551413 сағат бұрын
Yes, pushing a couple drops back into the bottle, then draw back the piston breaks any vapor lock. Prevents burping. ❤

I would ordinarily put something like these RO inks into an Opus 88 or a Benu. Though I sometime put inks with lesser shimmer into Eco's. Thanks for the video. DeAtramentis = DeA Dark Green and several others.

Beautiful inks! I don't think I can choose a favourite... I also love that Eco in the Irish Green so I've added it to my wish list. I have an Eco that was a collaboration with Bungubox (a Halloween pen because it's my favourite holiday). I got it in a fine nib and I just love it. Twsbis are great pens!

I had a similar experience. When I first started I bought the Robert Oster Shake N Shimmer Peppermint Candy and it clogged my Opus 88 and my twsbi (both broad nibs) and it turned me off to twsbis and opus'. I've noticed my twsbi ecos can handle shimmer inks (besides the Robert Oster) but my twsbi AL can't.

Another thing that turned me off from Twsbi for the longest time was that I would pull out my pen and it would burp all over the office 😂

I love that your Pelikan collection has grown. I love that the m200 golden beryl holds a special place in your collection. I actually was the hub master for Fort Lauderdale FL . It was so much fun. You prepared very nicely for the hub. I hope you had a blast. Can’t wait to hear about it. Until soon. Hoping we meet again.

Oh and I’ve been doing a commonplace book for a while now. Some of my friends are joining in it too. AND, last thing and not to name drop but I get to meet Pen Realm tonight. Turns out he and I live in the same town and are going to the same hub. I’ve heard his name so much so it will be fun to meet him.

I’m going to my first Pelikan hub in Boulder, CO (well, it’s held in Erie, CO). Your vid was very timely and appreciated as I wondered what I should take. Our host and participants (with experience) of course said that you don’t “need” to bring anything. Your “list” helped me decide what to take. The only Pelikans I have are school or Junior versions. Nothing *fancy* yet. Have fun!

Very pretty bag. Is the M600 red FP heavier than the M200?
@iMakePlans6 күн бұрын
That’s a good question…I would like to know too. The M200 I have is super light with a bouncy nib which I’m not a fan but if it had just a little more weight to it I think I would absolutely love it.
@williamcatalano17626 күн бұрын
Maybe a hair heavier. The M800 is heavier for sure because the piston mechanism is metal instead of plastic, plus it's bigger in general. M600 is bigger than the M200/M400 both around and in length.
