Just suck out the old ink, flush in the cleaning solution, suck that stuff out, and pop the old or new ink cartridge back in. Awesome! Now I don't have to buy a new printer.
***Correction to the video! The black ink cartridge I had in there was not a Brother brand cartridge. It was a random brand from amazon. I had been switching back and forth trying all different types of ink before I finally ordered the cleaning kit.

My printer clogged up again and I had to watch my own video to remember how to clean it. Used the same kit again and it worked great! Phew!

If black is not showing up on your test print but you are able to print black-ish prints, that may simply be the printer using the other colors to produce black. My Epson will print black and white prints using the color UNLESS I specify in the setup to use Black Only.

you are correct.. I think the black was still clogged.. it is using the other colors to mix and make black. until it prints the test sheet with black, then it is not working

@@rchdist Yes, I have done such myself. The black is still clogged in this video. All he did was default to colors, which will give a grey print, not black. .

I have a brother j835 and Ive had it since 2012, and it has just plugged for the first time, the black works, but none of the colours. Ty for the vid, I was thinking of buying a new printer, but I think i will order a kit and try to clean it first. Also because brother ink is expensive, I have been using non brother ink on my printer for 7 years with 0 issues until now. I would say that is pretty good.

glad this worked for you... im in the process of trying this on my printer right now with the same cleaner off of ebay, and after 5ish or so cartridges of each color later and multiple cleanings, it made things worse. i went from having just a little bit of issues with magenta to having magenta AND cyan wiped out almost completely. i still think this is worth trying if deep cleaning wont clean the printer, but be prepared for a huge mess haha. i still have 2 more sets of color to go after this cleaning, but im thinking my printhead is donefor and this will probably end up in the trash

Would be good to see a full color printer test page printed, with synthetic scales and absolute tones, as well as real images from the real world. This will tell you not just if your black is working, but how well it is working.

Plastic tubing and the connector they sent do not match. Have been struggling to fit them together. Not happy.

The two-finger method, with some skill applied, should work..However, for bigger jobs, you might want to use the three-finger method.

Any suggestions as to why my Brother MFC-J625DW, after 5 cleanings is still not showing cyan properly? I usually refill the cartridges with no issues. Thanks…

Where did you get the cleaning kit ? -- Is it supposed to work with all brands or is it specifically for Brother printers ? Nice Video.

Jack Draper should work to clean out any printer, but will certainly void the warranty so don’t blame me if it damages your printer 🥴. What is the reason why you have to mix the ink with the soluyion to clean the nozzles? Can we just pump the solution alone without having it mixed with the color/nozzles that we are cleaning?

gee cash I wasn’t trying to mix it. even a tiny drop makes the solution get colored. If you can do it without it getting contaminated that’s great :) When you suck the fluid out it’s all mixed anyway.
