I'll be launching a comic on October 1st, too. This is the first comic I've ever made. I did all the roles; writing, drawing, coloring, lettering, etc. It's cool to know I'll be in good company for that month. Tank Girl is a big inspiration for me.

I'm pretty sure there's a netflix or Discovery documentary on the conspiracy theories around Canete sightings. I can't remember the name though... "Finding Canete"...? "Canete Is Real"...? "Canete, Fear In The Woods"...? Maybe I'm thinking of something else, I don't know. Anyway, great episode!!

Love watching these episodes. Thanks for all you do, guys. :) I'm a "late bloomer" in the comic art world (51yr old)... but these shows, and your input/information helps me push forward. But, now, I think I need to get a tattoo to REALLY fit in. lol ;)

It's nice to hear you guys talk about Kickstarter, it helps me feel a bit at ease hearing you guys having the same approach I am trying to apply to mine.

That was the most impressive "bye byeee" thus far. Shawn's subtle wheezing in the background was the topper.

As Jim Rugg would put it, we're truly living in the golden age of making comics where indie creators and indie publishers who put in the work can thrive. Crowdfunding has opened the doors like never before, and more people have access to affordable print services and print-on-demand like never before.

Excited about that “Vigilante” kickstarter. What I did for my Kickstarter for my book Cabron Pistolero I did just a few extras. An enamel pin, sticker, a Riso print, a small riso printed sketch book the actual comic and then a blank Sketch cover variant. Logistically dealing with different manufacturers and creating all these different files for those manufacturers. Then having to wait on everything to arrive before I could ship anything out. Next time around might just simplify and just do the comic, blank sketch variant and maybe a print or more stickers. I did offer remarques on the comics and to due drawing on the sketch-covers for extra but had a limited quantity of those. Did not want to end up doing a ton of extra drawings

Indie comix are the future, thank god. I love old skool Marvel, but the new school aint it imo. Heard good things about Peach's Ultimate Xmen but because its different than the house standard. You gotta let the creatives spread their wings, songbirds don't sound the same in cages

Looking forward to Jim, and everyones book. To Shawn’s point, there have been a few campaigns that i just stumbled upon and backed by creators i didn’t know. One of them is going poorly, which stinks because i was excited about the art style, but that left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately they have lost my support for future projects. 99% of others have gone well. The others have gained my support. Eric and the Iconic crew have been a gold standard imo. While creating an exciting campaign and offering a great project is a massive piece, how things are handled after the campaign ends is a large piece of my decision to return for the next project.

Its funny when you hear from "apolitical" people (not hardcore left/right/alt) everyone pretty much agrees to basics. Help those who need it, reprimand those who deserve it, don't trust Politicians. Shouldnt be so complicated (not trying to open a political thread here, tho find me in a bar and we can chat for hours) "Just be cool" ~Jesus, probably

10 minutes talking politics after being complimented on not talking politics 🤦🏻♂️
@hariseldon63922 ай бұрын
that was more like a reflection and observation on why Matteo stopped watching politics - it wasn't actually talking about the politics. People who hate comics can talk about why they hate it - that wouldn't make them comic fans.
