If I may elaborate a little further on the Adaptive difficulty, I speed run Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes. We utilize what is called an "SRT" SpeedRun Tool, which, on the PC version keys into the running data of the game to display in game time, player, enemy health, and the DA or Difficulty Adjustment. I have spent more time on Resident Evil 3make recently than RE2, as both have similarities in coding, I can share some info regarding what affects the Difficulty. So the general consensus of the better you play, the harder the game gets is correct. Conversely, the more trouble you have with the game, the easier it gets. Things that make the DA go up: hitting shots on enemies; picking up ammo and health; (dodging in RE3make). Likewise things that make the DA go down: getting hit/taking damage; missing shots, dying and continuing the game. So, for instance, you may see a speedrunner purposely fire into a wall or the ground to lower the DA to mitigate some of the randomness (RNG) of the game to have it play a bit more consistent. Also, each difficulty has plateaus of DA, meaning it won't go higher or lower than a certain value. RE2 REmake standard will only get a certain level of difficult on normal difficulty. Where Hardcore, which I believe I agree with Ink Ribbon is set to max value. More from recent experience, Resident Evil 3make has the same plateaus as well. For instance, normal playthroughs have a DA of 5 or so, where Inferno starts at 11 and can go as high as 19. There are ways to play which can mitigate the DA, having the SRT on PC allows us to see the value. Mind you, the DA is a hidden value across all versions of the game, PC, PS4, XBOX, but with some tools, we can see them. Hopefully that helps. Did you know in OG Resident Evil2, start of the game you don't pick up any items and make it to the police station, when you go to the underpass you will see a zombified Brad Vickers. So in the remake, instead of finding him as a zombie in the underpass, he is now a poster.

The reason they were going to go with "Zombie-Licker hybrids" is because the Licker is the final form for the T-Virus zombie. Unfortunately, they've only ever gone with a zombie that's in the process of turning into a Licker twice; once was the Suspended from Resident Evil Outbreak and the Crimson Heads from RE1 remastered. Frankly, I'm a little disappointed they didn't even go with Crimson Heads in RE2 Remake. While I'm sure they would've been a bitch to deal with, it adds to the lore of how a Licker is born.

The sheriff turns into a zombie immediately after you leave the room, just turn around and try heading through the door. A small nod to the original is in the west wing of The Nest. When you connect the rail and head into the first area before the save room, there's an open ventilation with moths fluttering around it, possibly a nod to the big moth in the underground facility from the original resident evil.

They are remaking Code Veronica. The release timeline goes: RE8 in 2021, RE4 remake in 2022, and CV remake in 2023. Then again, that is still at the earliest 2 years away and anything can change. I was wondering about the adaptive difficulty, because my gf started to play RE 2 remake and asked me for help. I haven’t played the game, but she literally has no ammo bc she killed all the enemies she saw (lickers included), and when I see that I was like “man, this is going to be impossible “, specially in the parking lot, with all the fucking dogs around. Somehow we managed to survive and little by little we started to find less enemies and more ammo. Actually our game is pretty stable, bc now we have some ammo, grenades and herbs, but I was thinking that maybe we cannot finish the game because her decisions. 🤔 PS: Playing with headphones or a good audio theater is in another level. It’s so stressing.

I'm 100% glad that they did not go with the fixed camera perspective. It's a archaic leftover that doesn't need to be around anymore. It worked for the static backgrounds and tank controls of the original 3 games, but technology has come so far that we really can afford to make the controls and camera not feel like shit. A few things to mention of: #1) When at the gas station walk around to the other side of the police vehicle and you will see ROAST MASTER COFFEE on a sign board, that same coffee shop is seen in DEAD RISING 2 in the mall segment of the game, #2) whilst in the gas station go to the back of the Isle that houses the freezer with ice cream and you'll see boxes of wine scattered everywhere, look closely at the position of the bottle in the diagram. It is in the centre of the circle, which also looks like the EYE in the loading screen of the original RE 2 game that blinks before you hear the words RE 2 , #3), also in the gas station most of the food packages are either 1 of the 4 colours of herbs that you find throughout the series last but not least the ARKLAY SHERIFF costume for LEON resembles RICK GRIMES from the WALKING DEAD SERIES. 😍😍😍

So nobody else is going to mention it? I'm going to be the crotchety old 90s Resident Evil player then. I didn't like that re2 remake music was less intense and less scarier than the original Resident Evil 2. The overall Ambience of re2 remake was scary and creepy but the music was overall anti-climactic in my opinion. The original has better elements but the adaptation of what it would be by today's controllers and gaming standards it's a pretty decent game. I was definitely disappointed about the scenarios redundancy and lack of the zapping mechanic. ( doing something in one scenario that also carries over to the next scenario) Now for a game with plenty of dismemberment and horror I really hate the death scenes of the players that you're playing with. The death scenes in past Resident Evils were big Staples in this game and they got super lazy and infact, edited the death scenes to a goofy animation with no dismemberment. The lack of variety of enemies is super disappointing as well. The scenarios also don't sync up as good as they did in the original. There are a lot of inconsistencies with timelines and there should have been a heck of a lot more interaction between Claire and Leon. I was a bit pissy about the helicopter slamming into the building for no Rhyme or Reason where as in the old one it was at least being shot down unintentionally. Side by side comparison I think re2 original was better for its time and The Limited capabilities but re2 remake is not that bad and better than the current series of Resident Evils that have plagued our systems over the last few years. This game really had everything to be a 10 out of 10 but instead I give it a 7.5 out of 10 just due to the laziness when the product was already there and in production for so long. I did very much enjoy your video though!

You have a point with a few of these claims actually. The zapping system, for example. And I cant excuse those death scenes either, however I heard somewhere this was a localization issue with japan going on, but I can't confirm this.

Cant top the original music. The music in the police main hall paired with the surroundings give off this awesome atmosphere and the save room music gets you amped up to get back out in the fight.

RE2 Remake is a hell of a game but I was disappointed because they changed the camera angles. I was hoping for a RE1 kind of remake, and they also have missed a golden oportunity to work better the Leon's and Claire's campaigns, with more interaction between them and actions affecting more of the other character's story... They are at the same place but they almost dont' see each other as opposed to what happens in the original RE2, both scenarios are pretty much the same with some minor differences and there's almost no connection between them. Sad thing.

Also, this makes me sad they rushed the product now. As good as RE2 remake was, it could have had an easy drive into town to build atmosphere, bullet crafting like 3, dodging, co-op, etc. The game seems to have been redone a bit 1:1 honestly, that's so far from a bad thing.

Back when the RE2 remake was fist confirmed, before the series got the kick in the pants it needed with RE7, my friends and I would debate on whether it would be fixed camera or play more like the newer style of games. One Idea I had was to have "solo" A and B scenarios with a fixed camera, and then have a "C scenario" based on Darkside Chronicles's version of events witb Leon and Claire working together and using the playstyle from Revelations 2

Sora Roxas Because all their Co-Op failed spectacularly and most of the community argued that Co-Op is the reason the games flopped(Re5 and Re6). Most likely wont ever bring it back.
