Great tutorial. New to Inkscape so I think your idea for smaller videos on each LPE would really help me and possibly others. Can’t wait. Thanks and keep up the fantastic work.

Wow, this is great! Just the LPE Measurement tool alone is worth it. I have been making a series of line drawings for Sci-fi vehicle models and the current measurement tool,the Ruler, is really not that good but this is a real game changer for me. The dash segments for showing a blind dimension is a big help too.Thanks for sharing this and I am very much looking forward to the next Inkscape tutorial.

That's great, John. I really think 1.0 could be a good option for certain engineering design projects, especially when just needing to be able to share/communicate plans.

Thank you TJ! I appreciate your teaching style. So much to learn! I do have a question--I imported a jpg of a painting I did, and I want to be able to cut it out (deleting the background) to use for a picture book page. I used to be able to do that using Clipping Mask in Illustrator, but couldn't get it to work in InkScape. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time! CH

The arc you show at about 10:10, can that be used to create a pointy oval shape, if you duplicate and flip? I followed other tutorials that showed doing it by creating circles, aligning, difference type sequence. Seemed strange there wasn't a way to make an oval with points on the ends

Unrelated: Do you think covering OBS Studio would be a good fit for your channel? Lots of folks have to record videos with some advanced features, but there aren't - I think - that many good tutorials on this.

Yes, I appreciate the suggestion. I think OBS tutorials would be great, and hope to make and upload some in the near future.

Thanks for the insight on Inkscape 1.0. Is it possible to add nodes to the path on which the Gekko is linked (s-shaped instead of just an arc), or can that path have only two nodes one at each end?
@TJFREE4 жыл бұрын
Good question. Yes, the path you link to can have more nodes than just two. You can also link to a closed path, such as a circle.

Hey TJFree. I know the olive series is pretty old, but I wanted to ask a question regarding it. As someone who is starting a youtube channel, and wants to mask their voice. I need help on how to change my voice using Olive Video Editor. So it would be really appreciated if you replied. Anyways love your videos.
@TJFREE4 жыл бұрын
Good question. The audio tools in Olive are a bit limited currently for something like that. I'd recommend doing the audio editing / voice altering in Audacity. Its also free and open source, and can input audio directly from video files. Then just export the edited audio and bring it back into Olive to recombine it with the video.
@lowbloxmode33804 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I am so surprised you replied. Love what your doing. Much Love !

The Shotcut editor has the Pitch audio filter that you can use to mask your voice along with other audio effects.

What am I missing in LPE Measure Segments? No numbers/text. The lines & arrows are present & responding but no text. I've changed & moved position of font but nothing. My (2nd) download of 1.0 IS quite glitchy - this morning my repeating error was "no disk" - but pretty sure no text/numbers. One of the main features I need & why I'm riding out these little blips. Pretty sure it's me but where the heck . . .?

I dont know if there is a way to deform a bunch of triangles (all the same triangle) to make it look like in perspective, but the result will always be triangles with 3 nodes and straight lines btw them, bc i have tried before with the envelope effect but it adds extra nodes on the paths and the paths get curved so the triangles end up overlaping. In case I wasnt clear, I am talking about patterns of triangles like those of some wallpapers.
