Fantastic Rick, appreciate you answering my query with this great video :) Funny story, you did the video with one arm and said it is so simple you only need one hand. You must be psychic, as I am actually recovering from shoulder surgery and only have one arm available, so is good to know I can do this even in my current state ;)

Thanks so much for the great suggestion!! And, that’s funny - not funny about shoulder surgery - but funny coincidence. Here’s to a speedy recovery!

This is brilliant. Take one pallette you like. Trace a pic you like and just match the darks to darks. Lights to lights wow totally change the feel. Let's get creating people. Wheeeyyyy.

the paths of simplicity are the fruit of a mature logic. So building a palette of colors according to this method is emblematic: well done Rick. Greetings from Italy

This is nuts! I've been digging into Inkscape because I just got an Orturr LM2 10a, so I guess I need to become a bit of a graphic designer now🤣 And your channel is a GEM! Your videos on the layered vector tracing stuff is what started me off, but now I'm getting into things that I probably don't even need for my laser!🤣 Hats off, man👌 Fantastic content, good pacing and demonstration. Really great work. Thank you for what you do🙏 You got my sub for sure. Have a great one, and stay safe out there!

Thanks so much for instructions for InkScape so much appreciated. Two questions: 1. How do I preorder your book that is coming out in December? 2. How to change color in a png file. example if its green how I make the green in that image gold in inkscape?
@IronEchoDesign Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Working hard to finish the book so it's release on time! Once I know more about possible pre-orders I'll get the word out. For the question about PNG color changing... there is an HSL adjusting tool under Extensions>Color>HSL Adjust but it is made for vector objects. If the PNG is something simple, you could do multi-color Trace Bitmap and then select the green to switch manually to gold. Otherwise raster software like Photoshop or Affinity or Gimp would do it easily with their selection tools. Hope this helps!!

Once again I learn a new Inkscaoe feature. Thanks! I guess as an alternative, users could just duplicate and move several squares then use the eye dropper tool to target desired colours.

Hello. And if you take the last picture (3:14) and draw a red circle in advance at the bottom, then the red color will be added or added only the colors under the clones? Due to the old video card (problems with the drivers), on version 1.3, this function does not work normally. But on 1.1.1 versions, for some reason, the yellow color in the image is ignored, although it is a lot in the image ... and for it to appear, I have to create clones with dimensions of 20 by 20.

As I learn Inkscape I am finding your channel one of my go to sources. I came across this one as I am in the process of designing a t-shirt with a star field. The design will be printed on a black shirt and I want to get rid of the black behind the stars so that when the shirt is printed I don't end up with a big glossy swatch of black ink on the shirt. Is there a good way to remove the black but leave the stars? Thanks

I am struggling with preferences. Everything I open inkscape I have to set me desk color, remove checkerboard and other settings. How do I make it stay the same everything. Inkscape version 1.3. Thanks for addressing the color palate.

Cool tip. But how do I get a repeated rectangle around another shape's path i.e. simple square?
@IronEchoDesign Жыл бұрын
Thanks! You could try the Pattern Along Path tool. It’s found under Path Effects and you can repeat objects around any path you determine. Pretty useful.

Check the settings in Pattern Along Path. You should see an option to change the linked object to Repeated, Stretched, etc. Have you adjusted the that setting?

Great but how do I pick a palette from a portrait photo and show it alongside the photo rather than on top of the photo which hides the photo?
@IronEchoDesign7 ай бұрын
The palette you create is easy to select and move to the side.
