Hi Nick! I appreciate your videos so much! I want you to know that every time you do CTRL + 0 (to change the size of a shape), in case of that you can use the dynamic offset(under path). That allows you to take a shape and "reshape" in smaller or bigger (you do it with the small white point, it works like when you are rounding the corners of a square). You firstly duplicate and then you clic "dynamic offset", reshaped it as you want it to be, and you're done! You will save time doing that! :)

I really love your tutorials and your English hahaha. I mean, it's easy to understand you. I tried to watch other tutorials, but I had difficult to understand them, because sometimes Americans speak too much fast :D Tks a lot!!!

Your videos are improving! A lot more explanation of why you're using the tools you are. Great job! Long time Blender user, first time Inkscape.
@LogosByNick9 жыл бұрын
+Nicholas Woelk Thanks, glad to hear. I try to explain things when I can while keeping the entire video relatively short. I could explain everything, but the tutorial would end up being an hour and a half lol. I try to keep these as brief as possible. I know whenever I watch tutorial videos I always hate when they're too long because the person spent too much time talking. I'll try to work some explanations in here and there though, since they obviously help.

The guys at cgcookie.com have some really great tutorials. If you're looking to improve your tutorial skills I would watch any of their Blender videos. Also anything by blendeeguru.com. They aren't about making tutorials, or even about inkscape, but their tutorial skills are great!

+Piotr Wilk Did you have both the red shape and the letters selected at the same time? And if so, did you make sure to convert the letters to a path, ungroup, then union? (path > object to path > edit > ungroup > path > union)

How can I get the grey interface? Grey makes it easy to see the tools.
@LogosByNick9 жыл бұрын
+HighBridRed I have the grey interface because I'm using a dark theme with Ubuntu that makes all windows dark. If you're using Windows, search KZbin for "dark theme for inkscape" and there's a video showing how you can get the dark theme for Windows as well. I use it on my Windows partition. I agree, the dark theme is much nicer.

Man, this is really good. An I'm a huge fan of simplicity. Please, is inkscape better than illustrator?
@LogosByNick8 жыл бұрын
+Julian Glasgow Illustrator has more bells and whistles, and I give it a slight edge over Inkscape, but I personally prefer Inkscape because to me it's just easier to work with. Inkscape can do just about anything Illustrator can, though.
@julesthatruth19938 жыл бұрын
+Nick Saporito (LogosByNick) oh, well thanks for that advice, because it reminds me of illustrator and I see not much difference in it. by the way, would you know how to get that black background that you used there? I would genuinely appreciate your advice on that.

what is control+0 for? on my inkscape the shortcut isn't there. is it for inset/outset?

okay, I figured it out. It is actually the number 0 on top of the alphabet keys on keyboard, and not on the numpad.

My bezier pen is crap, every time I attempt to connect the dots to complete the step you demonstrate, it ends up doing something wonky and nothing like what is demonstrated -_-
@LogosByNick7 жыл бұрын
When you have the Bezier tool selected, at the top toolbar, make sure "Shape" is set to "None" and you have the "Create regular Bezier path" box selected at the far left. That might do the trick.
