This was a superb tutorial. I watched a similar tutorial for Affinity Designer and was wondering if it could be done on Inkscape (complete beginner here!). Thank you!

Great tutorial! My only complaint is that the audio is kind of murky so I need to use the captions. Other than that, you make some of the best, most helpful tuts on Inkscape that I've seen.

Thanks a lot! Do you notice the audio issue on newer videos as well?

Which software did you use to animate your logo at the beginning? Is Inkscape capable of doing motion graphics, or did you use another software? Thank you!

I used Davinci Resolve. Would be awesome if Inkscape were capable of motion graphics.

@SweaterCatDesigns I tried Friction 2D, a fork of Enve motion graphics, and it can actually animate Inkscape SVG pretty well. I was just curious about other possible software for that...

I think I've watched almost all your videos now. There is one thing that you've never explained and I think it's very obvious to you, but for me it goes right over my head. Why do you often do object to path > ungroup > union? Also, if you could show your layers on the right, it would be much easier to follow what you're doing. Like I can do everything exactly what you're doing, but I don't know why I'm doing it.

Good question! The reason I do Object to Path on text objects is that path operations don't work on editable text, so the text has to be turned into a path first. However, instead of creating a single path, Object to Path turns text objects into a group of paths, with each letter being a separate path within the group. Path operations don't work on groups either, so I have to ungroup all of the paths first. I can then perform operations on the individual paths if I want. However, if I want to perform the exact same operations on all of the paths, it's much easier to turn them all into a single path first, which is what Union does. Also, some of the operations don't work correctly with more than two paths selected. I hope that answers your question. I'll try to explain things a bit more in future videos. Showing my layers also sounds like a good idea!

good explained. sadly that not what we understand and need as "offset" or contur or what ever. I need a line (inkscape would say: path) in a given distance around an object. thats a real contur with offset. and I have to choose sometimes inner or outer. Even Illustrator can´t do it the right way.

Thanks for your tutorial, but it's difficult to follow because your pronunciation is very difficult to get due to you talk very quickly and not clearly. I hope you improve it in furher tutorials.
