If you want to learn more about how Inkscape works, I have a 50+ part video series where I explain all of the tools and features in Inkscape and demonstrate how they work. Here's the link if interested: logosbynick.com/inkscape/

I've never commented on a video before, but Nick's tutorial is too fantastic to not say something. I had never used Inkscape before, so I jumped right into this tutorial without looking up any of the basics. At first, I was a bit dubious because the current version of Inkscape has changed some since this tutorial--didn't matter! This tutorial is so well done that I was still able to easily & quickly figure everything out. I am rather amazed that I could actually create an identical fish. This is likely the best tutorial I've encountered. 10/10. Can't wait to play around with all of these new skills!

Definitely check out the rest of his channel👍 He's my nr. 01 go to guy for Inkscape on KZbin. I believe the version he's using here is 0.92.4. It only came in this colour and icon set. The first version I used😊 Logos By Nick later created (under correction) an add-on to change it to dark with a modern icon set👌 When version 1.0 rolled out, it came as standard, with choices👍 Best bit about Inkscape is that it's FOSS, Free and Open Source. Development relies on donations and such. All the best with the new skills

Great video! It is the first one I have seen of yours. You can make that sharp point before the tail by adding a corner node either by double clicking on the green line and selecting corner node or selecting both end nodes and hit the add a node then corner node. I look forward to watching the rest of your tutorials.

my second inkscape creation! (the first was how to change clipart to svg for a cutting machine). Right at the last step where you say to make the text "object to path" and a popup box happened- that did not for me. I opened it using the keyboard commands- finely made out from your screen. and I did not have any of the same options. when I started playing around with the letters, instead of making the whole set change- like yours, it made me change each letter and all the millions of nodes too. actually came out awesomely. but couldn't figure out why that was happening. Great vid. nice and clear. wish I could post a pic of my fish. daring to do the cup next.

Thanks for the tutorial - I am just learning and you made this process very understandable - Is there a way to add a long phrase or poem to a shape, say a pumpkin, Christmas tree, large heart. then delete the shape so just the text is in the shape of the object?

Regina Young I'm looking for the same thing! Please, Nick, could you make a tutorial for that? Pretty please! With sugar on top... ❤️
@MaxxiP7 жыл бұрын
Please correct me if I'm wrong here!! I think just like Nick said, you would have to do it mostly manually but und some paths you could use "Text -> Put on Path" , not everywhere and not on the whole shape but on couple of sections and then put them together the way you want them.
@EmineStars3 жыл бұрын
It should be possible to make a sharp corner by adding an extra node on the path, make it a corner node (see menu) and get it right on the corner.
