Have you considered autotrace centerline for the first drawing? That would make it much easier to convert to satin stitches. Also, to make colors more bold in GIMP, have a look at colors -> curves. It's one of my favorite tools, also for photographs.

Outstanding. Thanks for the tip. Will try it. I did centerline on the first one and it was not good. Probably a little more gimp enhancement would have helped though. Thank you

Need help with a logo I'm making, jump stitch issues how do I change the start and end of my stitches?

If it's a fill stitch select the fill object. Do extensions > inkstitch > commands > attach command to selected object. Select fill start and fill end and hit ok. Grab the icons and move them around to change their associated points
