Who needs future when exploring music of the past is nearly endless? Even if the world ends, I'll never run off music to listen. My sister passively introduced me to so many cool bands when I was a small kid watching her dancing like a wh-re in living room doorway.

I associated with a coven of Wiccans some years ago. I was invited to attend a Mabon ritual (September 21st). Mabon is one of the 8 sabbats in the wheel of the year (autumn equinox). Inkubus Sukkubus is one of my favorite pagan bands. I think I may have been a witch in a past life and my mother's side of the family is Irish, Welsh and English. So it's definitely in the bloodline.

@@fradiavolo11 LOL! 😆 Witchcraft was practiced within the ancient pagan religions of the Gallic, Celtic, Druid and Nordic tribes of Scandinavia, Europe and Great Britain.
@fradiavolo112 жыл бұрын
@@soloharmonicsrobj8246 Half of Iron Age Europe was made of Celtic tribes, who most likely originated in central Europe, and spread to a wide region from the Balkans to the British Isles. They had little in common with the German tribes populating Scandinavia, apart from the fact that they often fought each other. There were no druid tribes, druids were Celtic priests throughout France, Belgium, and Great Britain. Very little is known about druids, but much has been made up by Romantic writers and new-age hippies. Witchcraft is not a religion, and is not specific to any sort of Celtic or German heritage, unless again you are into some neo-pagan or neo-hippy trip. I am afraid you sound like a (Yankee?) teenager who read too many fantasy books on Iron Age Europe.
@soloharmonicsrobj82462 жыл бұрын
@@fradiavolo11 I agree with most of what you have stated. However you are mistaken none of the less. Witchcraft was practiced widely throughout Europe before Christianity. Especially amongst the tribal people's. I didn't specifically mention Druid priests, however the Druids were the Celtic tribal heirchy. You should familiarize yourself with the story of Vercingetorix the Arverni tribal Gallic chieftain of whom took on the Romans and nearly won, only to be defeated by their sheer numbers. As for your "Yankee" comment, no need for insult as it only belittles you. Yes, I am a 53 year old American, but with a vast knowledge of ancient cultures. Furthermore, I am unfamiliar with any so called fantasy, romantic, new age hippie writers.
@marcocastellani83482 жыл бұрын
@@soloharmonicsrobj8246 Vercingetorix, the best known Gaul chieftain, who doesn't know his story? I studied it at high school, where most of second year's History classes were about the Roman empire. And during Latin classes, where I was made to translate countless passages from the De Bello Gallico. And later, out of my personal interest. He had nothing to do with witchcraft. And no, the Gauls were not made invincible by the magic potion of Panoramix/Getafix the druid! Witchcraft had nothing to do with pre-Christian paganism, although an old and discredited theory claimed it continued its rituals (witch-cult hypothesis). Unless you refer to Wicca, the invented tradition popularised in the UK in the 1920s, closely related to the witch-cult hypothesis, predating and feeding into the new age movement. So allow me to doubt of your "vast knowledge of ancient cultures." And reiterate again that what most Americans believe of Europe is more the work of fantasy than historical accuracy.

oops i just realized the lyrics are most likely referring to a familiar spirit "Holt, who came in like a white kittling" described by the Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins. what i said before wasn't necessarily wrong however, as the old names got recycled quite a bit and were sometimes only vaguely remembered through folklore.
