I browsed your channel and noticed that about 2 years ago you took the direction of talking about writing and writers. Keep it up! Please do because it is becoming such an amazing resource for me, as I'm sure it is for many others. Would you accept recommendations for which authors' advice to cover? X

Thank you so much! So glad you are enjoying these videos. I have a list of topics I'd like to cover, and I like to choose authors I'm interested in and usually whose work I've read. New ideas are always welcome and great for inspiration, though I can't promise they'll make it into a video.

Thank you. This is what I needed to hear today. All of it. I need to connect to that nine-year-old girl who took joy in words and their power.

I am so encouraged to hear that they've been there. The drive to fail to make one push though the clouds, knowing that it's the journey of falling and getting back up sounds.. almost.. biblical. No better lesson that! There's your proof.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, it's inspiring to see how even the greatest writers faced challenges and how they overcame them.

Thank you so much for the great video and the advice it shared. I can relate very strongly with T S Eliot's advice about writing for oneself. I really enjoy writing, and though I may never be published, it's not important, so long as I enjoy it.

Thank you! Yes, I really love that piece of advice because it also helps beginning writers not to get discouraged by negative critiques of their work.

Been wresting with a fantasy world for 9 years. Sometimes I feel like I'm just wasting my time and then it seems to keep growing. I don't know what it will be yet but I very much relate to that Tolkien quote. It is very much a discover and characters and places appear as I write and get to know them. Explore their lairs and halls. I also like the Steinbeck advice of just keep writing.

Bravo…excellent, excellent. I really enjoyed the video. Love your historical approach and analysis. Thank you for taking the time to produce this second writing by authors video. You’re onto something that could be an exciting series. 70 yo guy and writer for short stories on the coast of Maine.

Thank you! I definitely have some ideas for more in this series.

Authors and creative writing teachers: Giving the same advice for over two hundred years in Louisa May Alcott's case, at least. There is literally, and I mean this literally, nothing left to learn or teach regarding creative writing. Just write.
