Because of all governments failure to fund needed projects, I believe we need to start a Sovereign Wealth Fund. It has been talked about, but never done.

We have one mate, it’s called the Australia Future Fund. The problem with the future fund though is it is very small, because it hasn’t been added to with royalties and taxes, it’s just what is left over from when the government sold Telstra. It’s about $220Bn and growing by about $15Bn a year… If our govs added just $5bn to it since it began annually it would be worth nearly double what it is now and growing fast. So you’re right to demand a bigger sovereign wealth fund, but don’t forget that we do already have one.

@@Mick_Unfiltered Thank you. Finding this out was very interesting and has given me a greater understanding. My theory is Gov. won't add to it because they would rather use the money on projects (roads mainly but sometimes hospitals &stuff) that will get them votes.

@@martythemartian99 you’re bang on the money there mate, definitely look more into the future fund, it’s interesting even if it’s not given the chance it and Australia deserves.
