Just want to say I'm incredibly thankful for these videos as I got hired as a medical biller and I had no idea what that even was when hired and the business did know this and promised training. Well 1 month in, and i got 3 days of training and was thrown out on my own still completely clueless. These videos have helped me so much and taught me so much.

Why ERA is not sent to to the patient?

A version of it goes to the patient. The EOB is what is sent to the patient by mail or in their only insurance access. Same information but in a more readable format with simpler terms versus the ANSI standard format.

How can you receive these files or find these files?

Thanks for your question. In most cases, you will need to either get them by contracting your own clearinghouse to receive the ERAs (835 files) as they are in ANSI language. However, some insurance carriers will be able to provide the files directly to you if your software will process/ingest them.
